I did it! I DID IT! I'm sooo excited (and I just can't hide it)!
Yeah, I know...I need to calm down and tell you what exactly I did. Well, at 1:51:47 PM CST yesterday, I submitted my college application!
That's nice, Sara...but people submit college applications every day.
Yeah, but this was MY college application! And it was INCREDIBLE...yeah, I know, I've lost it.
(Oh, great, now I'm talking to myself...)
You see, I've been wanting to attend this college for YEARS. It's really exciting to actually be seeing such progress in my ability to get there.
My story's really funny, too...so I submitted my application. Then I called my friend David (who's a freshman at my college). He couldn't guess what I'd done, so I told him. Then he told me that's awesome and did I want to talk to Mr. M (admissions director)? I said sure. So we go into his office and David says, "Hey, Mr. M. I have someone on the phone here who wants to tell you something." Mr. M responded, "I know who it is. I just got it and I'm printing it out." (*giggles*) Then he told me he knew it was my application when it was 23kb instead of the normal 13. (more *giggles*) Then he told me the only reason I'm going to get in is because I called his kids cute. So I was highly amused. : )
So anyway...that's my big news. I had to fill out a ton of information, come up with all my achievements in the past three years, and write three really long essays, but I DID IT!!!
(Oh, and if you think I'm excited now, wait til I get accepted...then I'll get a T-SHIRT!!!)

Far out man. Hopefully you'll have a good experience that won't leave you askin', "I went to get educated and all I got was this shirt?"

Well, the college I want to attend is a Catholic liberal arts college. If nothing else, I'll grow in my faith. But having a liberal arts degree is currently a popular thing amongst various fields.

I have what one of my English teachers called "squirrel syndrome." While rushing around preparing for college, I start feeling like a small forest animal surrounded by predators!

LOL Totally know that feeling...normally what I try to do is concentrate on one thing at a time and make daily goals. "OK, today, after school, I'm going to write the rough draft for this application essay" and just do it a little at a time. It totally works : )
