Uncontested Political Offices & Judges on the Ballot

Many people are not quite sure why we have so many judges listed on our ballots and very little information available by which to understand where they stand on issues and how they have decided on cases. We also seem to have several uncontested races that appear on our ballots for offices that represent people in a specific district, or for the US Senate Office. We desire better clarity; we hope for more available information on these public officers; and, we expect to know our public servants.

Every time I go to vote, there seems to be a new name listed on the ballot that is unrecognized. It is amazing how you can print off a ballot in some states and not all states, and not be able to find out the important and vital information on individuals running for public offices and those serving in public service positions. I agree that it is our duty and responsibility to seek the information and vet our candidate. Nevertheless, it is also the responsibility and duty of our state, city or county to provide available and accurate information on these officials that seek to be elected or re-elected in an open and available fashion.

We live in an age of technology, with many avenues by which to find information on many different people. However, it is always amazing to me how individuals end up on ballots uncontested and unfamiliar to the voter. We need to know whom our judges and public officials are, and how their actions will affect our lives and that of our community and counties.

We proudly represent our democratic voting process that allows the voters the opportunity to exercise their choice. We just want to be able to know more about the people that make decision in our courts and sometimes information is very scarce and unavailable. I am hoping this part of the democratic process changes.
