DaVinci: His ridiculous vision

We should all ask ourselves, "Who is the real -Leonardo DaVinci?" Is he a painter, an engineer, a clandestine plotter against the church?

None of the above, actually. What Leonardo really is a man who can amazingly observe the minute details of the world. It was this skill that allows daVinci to excell at art, science, engineering and just about anything else he wants to. Now, that's all well and good, but how does he do it?

Here's my idea:

I happen to think of the strange things the human brain can do when it is pushed. More specifically I think of the interesting phenomena that occur when we face a life or death situation. What often happens is that the brain increases the rate at which it collects data from our eyes. This gives us that 'in the zone' feeling that resembles the Matrix. Therefore, I beleive that DaVinci is somehow capable of activating this skill at will. This especially makes sense when you think of DaVinci and his observations of birds in flight: it was only proven after comparing his sketches to high-speed camera footage in this century.

Add to this the eye of a classically trained artist and its no wonder he could see how water moves.
