your body's reaction to STRESS!!!!.....interesting....eg: at an upcomong test

At the notion of an upcoming test, the student’s endocrine and nervous system activate and form part of the stress and tension felt as the day of the test approaches.
The closer the day is, the cerebral cortex activates the hypothalamus which in turn triggers the release of hormones that activate the sympathetic nervous system and the endocrine system. As the sympathetic nervous system gets activated, it accelerates the student’s heartbeat, raises its blood pressure, slows down his digestion, raises his blood sugar, and cools his with perspiration, making him alert and ready for action.
On the other hand, the endocrine system has a similar effect, as the autonomic nervous system gets activated; it orders the adrenal glands on top of the kidneys to release epinephrine and norepinephrine. These hormones are what cause increase heart rate, blood pressure, and blood sugar, providing us with a surge of energy. Once released, these hormones help the body manage the stress. They make nutrients available to cope with the stress. As the test day passes, the hormones and the feeling of excitement lingers away. Here we see the endocrine and the nervous system working together once again. As the stressful situation has run its course and the hormones linger away, the parasympathetic nervous system kicks in. This produces the opposite effect of the sympathetic nervous system, it decreases the heartbeat, lowers the blood sugar, and so forth.
