Mr. Obama

President Elect Barack Obama.

After 8 years of confusion, and debt, and useless wars, will the change we want (America wants) come?
Can this man change everything he wants to as quick as we think he can?
I'm beginning to think that this "change" will be a very very long process. How many trillions of dollars is America in debt? And how long will it take to get this sunken ship out from beneath the murky Ocean bottom.
Will taking out all of the troops from Iraq be the best situation? What will happen to all the Iraqis which have sided with the Americans? Won't they be eaten alive by the people fighting the US?

I'm sorry for asking all these questions, but should our hopes in this 'change' be so high. Can our expectations in this man be set to solve these problems at hand?

Also, a change of direction.
I am a pacifist. I value this ideal quite highly. I'm also a member of the Mennonite Brethren Church, which I hope doesn't scare you off to quickly. No, I'm not Amish (though I respect Amish, I'm just clarifying - obviously I'm using a computer...), and you wouldn't be able to tell me from any other high school student. I'm christian, similar to any evangelical church, but I'm part of the Anabaptist movement that was it's own reformation within the reformation, cause some of us didn't think the reformation was taken far enough. Through this movement Anabaptist's took peacefulness and non-aggression as seriously as loving one another, which I think was key to Jesus' teaching.
I also do not want to turn this into a sermon - please don't take that opinion, I just want to give some history to where my opinions come from.

I think that war is wrong. That there is no such thing as Just War. And that America should apologize for killing all the civilians that it has in Iraq, because we made a mistake.

I agree with you. I believe the violence can never be justified.
as for change. i doubt that it will come fast, but Obama, himself, represents change( but that took about 250 years)
