So here’s my Presidential bid. I wasn’t really sure how to do it all, so I hope I did alright. Also, to clarify, my last name is not More (although my first name really is Sara) and I made up Horace Dogwood. More came from Thomas More, who was an English politician during the time of King Henry VIII. I chose his last name because he chose to die rather than go against his conscience in a matter of politics. Also, since we don’t have cable, I haven’t been able to see any of the Presidential debates, so I wasn’t sure how to word everything. Here goes:
Hello, my name is Sara More and I want to be your next President. Someone you can be proud of and respect as your President. I want you to know that if I am elected, I’m not in it for the money, the fame, or anything of the like; I am in it for YOU, the regular American. I want you to know that you can get more from me than you probably could from others. You can get more from More than lies, deceit, and petty games.
The most important issue to me is the sanctity of life.
As president, I would keep the Mexico City policy, which states that any organization that receives federal funding cannot perform or promote abortions in other countries.
I would work to have the definition of an American citizen to be a person from the moment of conception.
I would work to overturn Roe vs. Wade and Doe vs. Bolton, which make abortions legal through all nine months of pregnancy. In addition, I would elect pro-life candidates to the Supreme Court.
I do not support embryonic stem cell research, human cloning, or in vitro fertilization. I do not support embryonic stem cell research, not only because it has little hope of promise, but also because I believe the work of science to be to enhance life rather than destroy it.
Human cloning and in virto fertilization are unnatural and even scary for today’s times. Human cloning, I believe, tampers with creation too much, as does in vitro fertilization.
I do not believe in sex educations in the schools. These often teach children how to have sex. I would promote abstinence amongst today’s youth. Abstinence would lower the needs for artificial birth control and abortions.
I support California’s Proposition 4, which states that parents must be notified before a minor has an abortion.
Finally, I oppose euthanasia and assisted suicide and would work to make and keep both of them illegal.
Another important issue is homosexuality.
I oppose homosexuality as a threat to culture and society. Because of this viewpoint, I would work to define marriage as a union between one man and one woman throughout the country.
I would work to overturn any bills that support homosexual instructions in schools, even in children as young as kindergarten.
I support California’s Proposition 8, which will define marriage as a union between one man and one woman.
I would remove any bills that force private orphanages to not discriminate against homosexual couples.
I’m a strong believer in the Amendment rights. A few highly important issues are as followed.
I oppose gun control. If people want a gun to perform illegal actions, then they will get a gun regardless of any laws in America. Gun control only leaves the law abiding citizens unprotected. Hence, I would lower gun control and even encourage classes on how to responsibly use a gun for self-defense measures.
Freedom of religion is important to the United States. Therefore, I would keep freedom of religion and not condemn religions that speak out on issues of morals against other minority groups. Naturally, if physical threats are being made, I believe the law should deal with anyone making the threats.
Freedom of speech is an important part of America. Hence, I would work to stop censoring and political correctness.
As for education, I believe that the government shouldn't be in the school business so much. I think there should be a few basics that each school is required to teach and then it should be up to the individual communities to decide what is taught in that particular school. Parents should be more involved with their children's educations. It's my personal belief that we should do away with all public schools, thus cutting education taxes, because it costs a great deal more to educate in the public schools than in a private school.
The economy...If you look at history, the Depression occurred because of an influx of false money. Similar things are happening now. In the 30s, instead of simply allowing the economy to hit rock bottom and then slowly climb, people tried to fix the situation by telling people to buy, buy, buy! However, this left the economy in bad shape for a good length of time until the stock market finally crashed and the situation was even worse than it would have been originally. Therefore, I would allow the economy to run its course without making matters worse by throwing more false money into the system and setting ourselves up for an even bigger crash. Therefore, I strongly oppose the bailout bill. I do not believe that the American people should have to suffer so drastically for the mistakes of others. I believe that the executives of Freddie Mac and Fanny Mae should have to step forward and foot the bills.
I believe the war to be necessary. As someone with friends in the military, I want our troops home as quickly as possible. However, I believe that drawing them out immediately would be detrimental. I support the notion of training Iraqi soldiers and helping the Iraqi people become more self sufficient without having to rely on the United States.
For a long while, I was closely associated with a man named Horace Dogwood. Horace is now well-known for offering bribes to prominent politicians. One day, he offered me a great deal of money if I changed my position on a few different issues. I could not argue in defense of something I did not believe in or against something I did believe in. At that time, I told Horace I would not and I have not spoken with him since. I believe that something of great importance amongst politicians is honesty (I know…an honest politician is an oxi-moron). Therefore, I would like to let all of America know that I strive to distance myself from unethical politicians once I discover their lack of honesty.
Thank you for listening and may you all have a wonderful day.

I have a question for you. You said that "Horace is now well-known for offering bribes to prominent politicians." Then you said " I strive to distance myself from unethical politicians once I discover their lack of honesty"
If Horace is well known for his bribe habits why did you wait to cut ties with him until after he offered you money. If you were all that innocent wouldn't you have cut ties from him the moment his bribary became well known?
Love is like a box of chocolates; if you chose wisely you won’t be disappointed and have to spit it out. ~T
At present, Horace is well-known for offering bribes to current politicians. Enough of his underhanded dealings have occurred. However, at the time I was closely associated with him, no such knowledge had thus been produced. I was one of the first Horace bribed and I helped in making his underhanded dealings known to the public, once I realized the dealings were occurring on a massive scale.

According to the US Constitution (Amendment 14, Section 1), persons are considered US citizens if they are born or naturalized in the United States. Under your proposition to define a person from the moment of conception, how would you change the Constitution to define these persons as US Citizens? Would such a person have to be conceived in the United States in order to be considered a US Citizen (assuming one or both parents is not already a citizen)?

I would change the definition of a "person" as a "person from the moment of conception". However, the part about being born would stay the same, so if a child was born in the United States, they would be considered a citizen. I think it would be pretty difficult to definitely state whether or not someone was conceived in the United States.

So are you 'running' for president just to push your own agendas and sex politics or do you actually have a passion for the US?
What do you think these policies would have on the economy or the overall education of the population? Do you care, or have any other plans for, about the economy, the system education, the war? What about the bailout, or the enviromental impact of many of our choices?
I forgot to mention that I like your idea on deregulation of guns? I had a mini party when They finally lifted the 32 year ban on guns in DC, there should be some rules of course but to flip things so that the criminal have an advantage is just...stupid.
I only ask because it seems like your platform is based in our law abiding bedroom, a place I do not really thing any form of government should be.

I think that describes my passion better than additional words could.
Well, I don't believe in total deregulation. Of course, registering and whatnot are necessary for reasons such as order, criminal investigations, etc. What I disagree with is the idea that people should not have the rights to bear arms. That goes against our Second Amendment rights.

That does not have anything to do with what I asked. Are you sure you are not secretly a politician? What I asked and said was:
"Are you 'running' for president just to push your own agendas and sex politics?
What do you think these policies would have on the economy or the overall education of the population? Do you care, or have any other plans for, about the economy, the system education, and the war? What about the bailout, or the environmental impact of many of our choices?"
Basically I was asking why these topics, that seem to be based on government running sex lives, would be the focus of your plat form and you do not even hit on the things that are actually important and accomplishable constitutionally.
Love is like a box of chocolates; if you chose wisely you won’t be disappointed and have to spit it out. ~T
Oh, well, why I brought them up in my platform is (a) they ARE important topics that AREN'T discussed more often than not and (b) I figured few, if any, would probably have the same topics. If I'd been able to touch on more topics than three, I would have had "important" issues included.

You could have easily touched on more topics. The guidelines given weren't incredibly stringent; we just wanted to make sure you'd expand on a few important topics. But, of course, answering questions from the people who may elect you is a great way to discuss other issues...

So, regarding your issues that you did bring up:
What do you think these policies would have on the economy or the overall education of the population?
And, not necessarily related at all to your 3 key issues:
Do you care, or have any other plans for, about the economy, the system education, and the war? What about the bailout, or the environmental impact of many of our choices?

These particular policies probably won't affect the economy.

I absolutley agree with you one most things and this makes you sound both less crazy and completely nuts, I mean this in a good way.
You are for less government except when it come to the most private thing of all, sex, this confuses me greatly. Also I do not see how "These particular policies probably won't affect the economy." Since it all likely hood it would create more children to those with less available finance and misery.... I have more but I can not exactly articulate it right now.
Basically, how can you say you are for private lives and then try to make laws that dictate who may sleep with whom and how couples make their babies. It is almost like you said that you want whats left of the smaller goverment to hang out in our bedrooms. Do you see your own personal dichotomy?
Love is like a box of chocolates; if you chose wisely you won’t be disappointed and have to spit it out. ~T
LOL Thanks
Well, I believe the government shouldn't be in our business so much, but I also believe that all life is sacred, and as such, should be protected. I really wouldn't mind abortion and homosexual marriages to be up to the individual states...
Well, that's true, but I'll work on tax cuts so that people will have more money :P
Well, I don't care who sleeps with whom. But when people are making it public, then I'm going to deal with it publicly. In addition, how couples make their babies is always the same :P

Are you changing your stance on things?
I ask because you said "Human cloning and in virto fertilization are unnatural and even scary for today’s times. Human cloning, I believe, tampers with creation too much, as does in vitro fertilization."
Those are very diffrent things and sounds like you want to make them both wrong. In vitro, very basicalli, is making a 'baby' outside the womb then putting it in the uterus to grow, very diffrent from how I made my children (which was free and fun). You sounded as if you wanted to out law this invitro and clonning. With in Vitro at least there is some economic improve ment.

I'm supposed to be a politician, aren't I? : P JK
Oh! LOL I didn't know what you meant by that. Got it now. OK, yes, I personally believe that human cloning and in vitro fertilization are wrong. I oppose them and thus do not support them. However, I don't really think there is much I can actually do to stop it, from a governing standpoint.
