I am still utterly confused for why so many people are voting yes on Prop 8 in order to protect marriage as based in the state and U.S. constitutions. Marriage should be between any set of 2 people who are in love whether its 2 women, 2 men or 1 man and 1 woman. Marriage should be treasured for any person in this world. Discrimination based on sexuality is very rude and selfish considering the history of discrimination in our world with the Civil War, the Holocaust and the Japanese interment camps and the genocides by Stalin. I'm pretty sure that no one wants to go through those tradegic events again.. correct? i understand those people who grew up in the middle of the 1900's who were exposed to such cruelity if someone who was gay because it was preceived to be sinful. It's the 2000's now, so get over your prejudice views. Even if the prop is passed, why would it concern you that gay partners want to marry unless you have issues with your sexuality or someone in your family is having a struggle? That would be an understandable opinion for being against it, but otherwise then you people are just ignorant and inconsiderable for gay people's views on a happy and peaceful life. You should vote no on Prop 8 because this is a example of people losing basic rights to marry and thats horrific to hear.

I believe that the subject should not be discussed because it is within the likes of the couple. Citizens act as if they have to live in the same household watching every scene of this lifestyle. Gay marriege or relationships should be to the discretion of those who act upon it. This is a free country and should not judge within the rules of sexuality. Ms. Shay
Gay people cant even express themselves anymore because people will ridicule them and others who are more open want to step up and defend their position because they know that anyone should have the right to be happy and marry but there are too many prejudice people in this world that are refusing and unwilling to change their opinions and how discrimination rules our world even though we should be past it.
I think gays have plenty of opportunity to express their views. This site, the rallies and protests on street corners. I swear right before election there was somebody holding a sign "Vote no on Prop 8" on almost every busy intersection. What do you mean that gays don't have a voice? If you ask me, they have a substantial one.
