The next president of the United States of America will be a man that has a strong back-bone. Not a man that makes multiple promises, (like many politicians do) and not follow up on them. But I am not writing this to make a crack on politicians or on the running candidates for president. I am not writng this to make a name for myself or to show how America has done a bad job being the big brother of the world and needs to be put in time-out for a while. I am here to let all who read this know that we as American citizens need to have knowledge about where we came from and where we are going. The phrase, "we must learn from the past" is a great quote to keep in the front of your mind. There is no more room at the back of our minds for things that we "should" and/or "will" remember later on. The back of our heads have so much knowledge that has gone unused and may never be used that it's unfathomable.
I don't believe that Congress or the Senate has ever had the idea thrown at them that America, should be put in time-out for longer than the usual 10 minutes. But America should be put in time-out for a few days to weeks, to figure out where we stand in the world and further more where we are going on the world today. The past speaks louder and louder everytime we step over it and forget or rather ignore what it has been through. Instances in the pas have happened for a reason. The days we have off from school, work, and other activites are not just sleep in days as many will take them as, but for remembering what happened on that particular day.
Dont forget where we have come from America. Dont loose sight of where we want to go as a country. Ameica we are a family, and as such we need to know when each of us needs, and should be put on time-out.
I'm sorry if I missed this, but how would America's "time out" be? What did you mean when you said that? How you do think we should learn from our mistakes? I totally agree with you, there, but when I think about putting that into practical terms, i struggle.

In my mind, a time out for america would be us almost shutting down. we still have foreign trade and everything that is needed to keep this country running. We would be the country that shuts it boarders and no one comes in or out. a basic lock down and cleaning of Ameica. I highly doubt that this idea will make it far but you know how little kids need a time out to "think about wha they did"? well ameica needs a time out to figure out whats going on. Kind of :-)
