The Imaginal Realm and Aliens

Over 3 million people have claimed to have been encountered by aliens from another planet.
With UFO spottings and thousands of alien abductions, what does one do to explain the phenomenon?
One psychiatrist has the answer. Dr. Kenneth Ring has decided that aliens do exist, but in another reality called the Imaginal Realm. “Ring has decided that the abduction experience is one of several mystical and visionary states within the human mind.”

Henry Corbin, french philosopher that first introduced the idea of imaginal realm to America, describes imaginal realm as a place in between imagination or fantasies and that what is perceived through the senses (physical world). Corbin goes on to describe imaginal realm as” a world as ontologically real as the world
of the senses and the world of the intellect."

Ring believes that abductees have imagined bodily forms and spacecrafts as real as we are, and could perceive them with their senses. Ring believes that this is the bridge that connects the two realities (the physical world and fantasy world) together. Ring considers that these “aliens” are real and exist in this gap between the two realities. He confirms his theory by using near-death experiences. Through his studies about near-death experience Ring discovered that many near-death experiences is similar to alien abduction cases. There are dark tunnels, bright lights, and even figures that communicate telepathically. Near-death experiences and alien abductions also share a feeling of greater social concern and heightened spirituality.
Ring believes that imaginal realm is a higher level of conscience that is connected to evolution. He believes eventually that the more evolved humans will be able to travel to the imaginal realm.

I thought the theory was quite interesting. I do not yet have a formulated opinion on the subject, but it has provoked thought. It also provoked me to question drug trips and psychosis. Are they in imaginal realm?

I wonder if the imaginal realm is the same realm that I enter when I am meditating or talking to the Gods? Although I don't quite consider that imaginary.....now I have to research this more. :)

Its not imaginary. It is an actual reality according to Corbin. I also have to do some more reading on this.

Near death experiences and alien abductions being very similar makes this argument very legitimate. It's such a cool thing to think about though. Sneaky sneaky aliens comin' to our planet and messin' with our people, haha. Or it's just something that happens in people's heads.
