Trash
Recently at University of Southern Mississippi, the new policy on campus is to recycle. I even had an English professor that went so far as to make the theme of his course be the “environment.” I mean, “What are the odds?” My current assignment is to write a discourse paper that I am apart of that relates to the environment. I was thinking about doing my residence at Hillcrest Residence Hall but I decided not to because there are too many taboos on it. Some examples of the policy I have living on USM campus is fire policy, trash policy, recycle policy, escort policy, and tornado policies. Aside from the regular hassle everyday that I go through being a sophomore, these universal issues makes things worse. I wouldn’t categorize myself as a environmentalist, but I do admit to using the big blue recycle bins as a waste basket. I’m sure many people don’t agree with me on using the recycle bin as a normal trash basket, but where else is my trash supposed to go, on the floor? NO! I can say the trash in my dorm don’t go on the floor, and also the tings in my trash don’t get recycled.
