ARE MOBILE PHONES NUISANCE THAN A BENEFIT?

Are mobile phones more of a nuisance than a benefit?

Mobile phones are now an integral part of our lifestyle and are now carried
by people around the world as if they were a part of one’s clothing. They have
flooded into our system and we seem to relish this great gift of modern technology.
Mobile phone, in a way, has become a best friend to many of us as it is useful not
only for communication but also for entertainment. Useful tools like cameras, MP3
players and FM radio now come embedded with this technological gem. It is
something that serves to a great extent the utilitarian purposes and it has earned
itself a place in the list of the basic requirements of the modern man.

When it comes to the benefits of it, I do not think anyone can have many
doubts. Most importantly, it is mobile and once you have a phone that you can carry
around inside your pocket, you have a really handy tool with you. It can be very
helpful at times of emergency and it has really added to the momentum of this fastpaced
world. It provides all kinds of facilities like SMS, with which one can send
written text, and MMS, with which one can send video clips and messages. Besides
this, presence of an efficient camera that is effectively portable only adds to the
utility and the fun connected with this marvel. In addition to this, one can learn of
the latest news, watch movies, get the sports update or watch the action replays of
action moments of live football or cricket matches. Moreover, the facility of the
Internet that it provides really expands the range of various benefits of it. There is
hardly an information that cannot be found in the Internet, which is rightly termedthe
information superhighway. Mobile phones also work as a portable clock,
calculator, watch alarm, phone directory and address book all available in packages
as small. It is one of those big things that come in small packages. Therefore, as far
as the benefits are concerned, one cannot come up with anything but the full marks.

With all these services and benefits, mobile phone industry is doing a great
job in increasing the ever-increasing ease of the human life. Vendors are coming up
with more useful offers and facilities and to add to this, there is the decreasing cost
of it. Now, the mobile phones are available at a cost comparable to that of the
ordinary wired phones and in some cases at even lower costs. This makes them
products with added value.

The benefits of the mobile phones are certainly overwhelming but one must
admit that it has brought about an unnecessarily increased use of phones. People
seem to be involved in more of unnecessary talking, unnecessary downloading of
ring-tones with no real logical purpose, sending in of all kinds of unnecessary
troubling messages and the misuse of it. The camera that comes with the mobile
phone can prove to be a dangerous tool in a wrong hand. People can probe into
other people’s lives and can bring shame and insult to others. The celebrities and the
relatively famous people are usually the victims of such misuse of the mobile phone.
Recently in India, mobile phones received movie messages that featured school
children involved in unacceptable acts and the chief of the web site “Bazee.com”,
which distributed the message, was charged. People seem to be getting addicted to
it and are using it excessively and unnecessarily. Moreover, it has also become a
matter of showing one’s economic wellbeing or a status symbol. Some people seem
to carry it for no real purpose.

However, these unfavorable problems, which are more or less inevitable,
have their sources primarily on the human conscience and not the invention itself.
Our conscience plays a vital role in cases like that of mobile phones, which can be
utilized for useful as well as a few harmful purposes.

Mobile phones coming with unlimited facilities are very helpful to the human
development. They have brought about an added ease to our lives and to the
activities involving mass communication. Mobile phone is a wonderful tool in our
hand and we should be able to handle it best for the betterment of everyone so that
the few unwanted problems connected with it are solved. It is no wonder that it has
mushroomed in our lives and is ruling as it should be. Therefore, it is a sheer
nuisance to call it anything close to a nuisance.

Mobile phones are quite damaging, especially (for kids) when used on the right side of the brain.

It causes stress and bad sleep overnight!

The good news, (sarcastic) wireless rooters are 5 times more damaging than mobile phones!

Also all electronic devices which send out and receive signals, interfere with our own personal brain antenna, lol!

Wish I was joking about the last sentence!
