So when I first heard the Palin was McCain's running mate I was like yes go McCain he has a women for vice president. but this weekend my Aunt actually told me some of the things she has done and I honestly think she is retarded but that is just my own personal opinion. I just want to name one of the mistakes she has made.
First off, a rape kit is really when someone gets raped the police while take tests and search for anything that could help find the guy or create evidence against him and they do all that for free. While Palin was governor for Alaska she passed a law that said women had to pay for the rape kits. They now cost 100's of dollars. So now the women are like, spend alot of money to get a rape kit or just let the guy go free. I personally think that's messed up and i wanted to know others veiws on her and if you have anything interesting whether good or bad i would love to know.
Not only that but her sentences and vocab are really lacking....Alot or is it just me. who knows. I am all for McCain but when it comes to Palin i shy away.

Do you know the reasons why she didn't want rape kits to be handed out for free?
from what you said it sounds like she was for rape.
All i know is that she is strongly against abortion is pro life but i will try and figure it out for ya.

To spout disinformation like you just did should be illegal.
Sarah Palin is highly religious, which leads to her stance on abortion. She feels that it is morally wrong. It doesn't matter though - she can't overturn Roe v Wade without approval from all of Congress and McCain. While McCain might approve, Congress won't. Judicial decisions are rarely overturned by anyone that isn't the SCotUS.
Also, the policy that charged rape victims for rape kits was in place BEFORE Palin became Mayor. Please, check your "facts."

Wasilla, AK has a population under 10,000 as of 2007.
From 2001-2005, the city of less than 10K had 9 cases of rape. So, looking at the total number of people in the state in relation, .09% of the city was raped between 2001-2005. I can see how a policy like "victims have to pay for rape kits" could fall between the cracks with an average of 2 rapes a year.

Actually, you're both wrong (sort of)...
Whether or not Palin actually instructed her police chief to do this is unknown. However, she obviously WAS aware of the practice taking place under her administration, and did not oppose it, though she has recently (i.e. after she became a candidate for Vice President, said that "does not believe, nor has she ever believed, that rape victims should have to pay for an evidence-gathering test."

Wait - how does that make me wrong? That's what the article I posted said, lol. The policy was in place before Palin became Mayor and was repealed after she left office. lol

-acertainsaint-
Palin was the mayor of Wasilla from 1996 until 2002 (and had been on the city council for several years prior to that), and she applointed Charlie Fannon to his position as chief of police. The policy was instituted while she was mayor, and was still the mayor when the state legislature forced the repeal of the practice by passing a law to prevent these changes.

Oh! Well, there's that. Ok - I was wrong.

Q: Did Sarah Palin make rape victims pay for their own rape kits? NO she did not.
A: Palin's police chief in Wasilla did that. Whether Palin supported this is not certain.
We've seen countless Internet and e-mail claims that Sarah Palin forced women to pay for their own forensic testing when reporting a rape. Unlike some claims about Palin, this one has some merit, though Palin's precise role is unclear. Here's the story:
In 2000, complaints about this practice in rural cities including Wasilla prompted the Alaska Legislature to pass a bill preventing alleged victims of sexual assault from being billed for forensic tests. It was signed into law by then-Gov. Tony Knowles. Palin had been the mayor of Wasilla for four years at the time, and a local paper reported that the Wasilla police chief, Charlie Fannon, defended the practice, saying he had billed women and their insurance companies for these tests rather than placing a "burden" on taxpayers:
Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman (May 23, 2000): "In the past we've charged the cost of exams to the victim's insurance company when possible. I just don't want to see any more burden put on the taxpayer," Fannon said.
According to Fannon, the new law will cost the Wasilla Police Department approximately $5,000 to $14,000 a year to collect evidence for sexual assault cases.
Palin wasn't quoted in any news coverage at the time. More recently, after she was picked to be Sen. John McCain's vice presidential running mate, her spokeswoman Maria Comella told USA Today that the governor "does not believe, nor has she ever believed, that rape victims should have to pay for an evidence-gathering test." Comella declined to answer questions about when Palin found out about the practice and what, if anything, she tried to do about it. Fannon, who is no longer the chief of police, has not spoken to the press either.
Eric Croft, a former Alaska state representative who sponsored the 2000 legislation, told CNN that "I find it hard to believe that for six months a small town, a police chief, would lead the fight against a statewide piece of legislation receiving unanimous support and the mayor not know about it." But Croft, a Democrat, says he does not recall discussing the issue with Palin at the time.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. Man i feel stupid for posting a blog that didn't have the correct info. but i'm glad that you cleared it up for me. Gracias.
she's still seems like an over-religious bible-thumping idiot..and i wouldnt feel safe if it ever came to her running this country...
lord help us...
I would want eitheir of the running vice presidents in office. They both suck and if the president were to die or something. We would be screwed.
Hmmm, Palin is up against sexist pigs and hypocritical feminist liars. I am so sick of the attacks on Palin. She is great. She did not become Americans most popular governor because she was incompetent or inexperienced. Palin took on Big Government, Big Business and raised a family. She has more guts than most men I know, especially in Government, because she actually made reform happen in her state, all the while our Senate and Congress were in the pockets of corrupt businesses and were too worried they may make the people mad who contribute to their campaigns, instead of taking care of us. Palin is the only Governor to give money back to the people of her state, rather than take money from the people. The feminist or so called feminist who do not support her are disgusting excuses for woman. They are not real woman at all. They are just like the sexist pig men, who did not want women to vote or have their own voice. Unless you agree with the pro abortion feminist , in their opinion you as a woman are not entitled to an opinion. The fact that they cannot support Palin, proves they do not care at all for a woman’s rights; they just want to force their own selfish agendas on everyone. Does not Sarah Palin as a woman have the right to her own values, opinion and a family and a career? One Point I want to make about today’s so called feminist, they are not like the real woman of the feminist movement, who were mothers and wives and believed in God and Families values. Nope the feminist movement has been hijacked by the far left, who murder babies by the thousands or want to marry woman instead of men. Those feminist are even worse than the men who tried to oppress woman, because they try to oppress woman who do not agree with them, they are no different. That group thinks any woman who is not pro abortion or pro gay marriage is not entitled to women’s rights. Let me tell you something. I left an abusive husband with a baby on each hip, worked my way through school and became the VP of a company and now own a small business. I had to fight my way to the top, with these so called feminist stabbing me in the back the entire way to the top. Sarah Palin has not once said she was going to overturn Rowe vs. Wade, she just said she does not agree with it, nor do I agree with it, for the fact abortion is now a form of birth control for thousands of irresponsible woman too lazy to use birth control. Let me tell you one thing, Sarah Palin is more of a feminist than half of this hypocritical far left selfish woman, most of whom you have to question if they are even mentally stable. 90% are not even real women, they are men want-a-bees’. My opinion about the homosexual issue is this, who in the world cares what someone’s sexual preference is, I do not, so get out of the political arena. Stop trying to force your lifestyle down society’s throat, do what you want to do, if I do not like it, I do not like it. It is a free country, I am not trying to stop you, but I am sick of all this victim bull. Just stop looking for everyone to say it is okay for you to be Gay, and trying to have special laws for a sexual preference. Guess what never going to happen, a large portion of Americans are going to be opposed to it, no matter what you do, our nation needs to focus on more important things then who sleeps with who or what. The only laws that need to be in place as far a sex goes are the ones that protect children from predators.
...though I am not surprised to find a Palin supporter who is obsessed (as you seem to be) with a desire to discriminate against gay people. In any case, Palin HAS opposed Roe v. Wade, saying "that individual states can best handle what the people within the different constituencies in the 50 states would like to see their will ushered in an issue like that" and that abortion "should be a states' issue not a federal government-mandated, mandating yes or no on such an important issue." She has also been very vocal about her support of the pro-life movement, which very clearly and consistently seeks to overturn Roe v. Wade. I also find it a bit hypocritical of women who seem to think that because Palin is a woman, she shouldn't be subjected to the same level of scrutiny and criticism as any other candidate.

HA HA - I knew someone would fall right into this one. How does it feel? This the typical attack from the elite indoctrinated far left spokesperson. Everyone is bigot, but the people who agree with them. Don’t you see the attacks on Palin are not any different than what I said in my blog? Just a different opinion, but the right are far more tolerate of the elite lefts opinion, the left is not tolerate of the rights opinion. This country is virtually split and just because someone is pro-life and pro-traditional marriage does not mean they should be attacked personally, any more than someone who is homosexual. Palin deserves the same respect of any woman running for office without personal attacks targeting her or her family. She should be praised for her accomplishments.
As a conservative who apparently I am-I am tired of the cry babies, even though I have diverse group of friends, Christian, gay, republican, democratic, male, female, black, white, Asian, Indian, etc.. and I always vote independently democratic and republican. My values are something precious to me and when I listen to people hatefully attack my Biblical beliefs or people who represent the value system I hold dear, I think they are the bigots, it is no different. I plan to be Biblically correct over being politically correct any day of the week.
It is the far left liberals gone wild that separated me from the Democratic Party. Look back at the GOP convention this year, who was it running around on the streets destroying private and public property, far left loons, actually kicking police officers. (If my Mother saw me kick a police officer for any reason, she would have beaten me bloody with a switch) Once most of the Democrats grow up and get a family and a real job they tend to lean right, just because of the extreme hateful stunts of the far left. That is why the left will never get those on the right to realize the point of view of the left, whose role models are Madonna and Sean Penn (or others who lack character or substance). Ok mark my words if by a slim chance McCain wins the presidency on Tuesday, what do you think will happen – I suspect from the Obama supporters riots, people trashing public and private property in protest etc.. and on the other hand what do you think would happen if Obama wins. The reaction from the right will be I suspect they will bore you tears when they analyze and talk it to death about how Obama won.
The far left blindly feed on whatever the elite bias media says without evening questioning them or the Medias motivates in the election. The media is controlling this election and anyone who does not believe they are being lead like sheep’s to the slaughter to vote for Hollywood’s and the medias choice for president are either part of special interest group, too young to realize or uneducated or the one of the media or Hollywood élite.

Sorry I am not sure what I am doing wrong, but I think you asked me to do that before.
...Libertarians were considered "to the right" politically, and I am (of course) a Libertarian. When one makes bigoted statements (as you did), one does tend to get called on it here at ProU. The real question is whether or not you can back up your claims in an objective manner, and nothing you have said thus far would indicate to me that you can.

Now I know the libertarian party is code for far left posers pretending to be middle right.
Bigot - a prejudiced person who is intolerant of any opinions differing from his own
Really that sounds more like you than me. Please feel free to stand behind your personal attacks because you lack the abilities to produce sound arguments.
People are free to live the lives they want does not mean I have to agree with their lifestyle choice. I base my opinions on the same guiding values over 50% of Americans the Bible. I know you are bigot against Christians but that is okay I forgive you.
Bigots are not intolerant of opinions, they are intolerant of people regardless of their opinion.
...you know, the one's who aren't christian, our Founding Fathers were wise enough to separate church and state to prevent christians with opinions like you from using the police power of the state to force other people comply with their made up beliefs. As for Libertarians, your comments merely show how ignorant you are of the Party and what it stands for. And finally for my arguments, I am comfortable letting our readers determine for themselves the value of my comments.
On a side note, I have have a previous blog that addresses the tired "I know you are, but what am I?" canard of the bigot who calls anyone who stands up to him a bigot as well. You might want to check it out: Should We Tolerate Intolerance?
