Early Voting

Waiting in line for an hour, the computers go down, another half an hour passes and I receive my ballot.
I sit down amongst the hundreds of voting booths that are suppose to be used as private voting, but you are two seconds away from bumping elbows with the person sitting next to you. Children are crying, people are tapping their foots impatiently, and there are about ten thousand questions I have to answer on the ballot. Democrat? or Republican? pfft get real...DEMOCRAT.
(strange how I'm one out of four other people in my family that consider themselves democrat, the rest of my family are voting for THAT ONE)
I race down the line, shading in who I already know I'm going to vote for...democrat...democrat...democrat...
hmmm they are both good....democrat.
OH no! dead end...
yay or nay for so and so...
why didn't I read up on this section in the voters guide...
damn!
okay read up, that sounds intriguing...yay...
read again...well if that happens then that is going to screw this up...nay
reading again...(my conscious is starting to tell me that voting can be frustrating)...I just want to put yay all the way through...
no what kind of voter would I be?
...like a majority of other voters that don't know what they are voting for. as long as they get the president they want into the white house.
reads again...damn 30 minutes until the rally starts...okay read some more.
that sounds good...yay
that sounds good... yay again.
hmmm I don't know about that one...damn it feels like I'm taking an exam...one wrong answer and the democracy falls
like the roman empire.
okay three more questions left...shit what is this all about?
okay just read...I like that one...yes..."wait what happened to all the yay and nay nonsense"
okay that what seems good...yes again.
yes..yes...yes I'm done!
okay now where do I take this, hmm there is a line back there I guess that is where I go, "why am I so confused, this isn't the first time i've done this, then again this is the first time I have done early voting..."
alright let the machine suck in the ballot and wait for the number to change "yes it did, off to the rally, oh so refreshing"

A little creative writing for my moment at the polls, I voted.
