Saturday Night Live: Mocking the 2008 Presidential Election

Tagged:  •    •

We have all seen Saturday Night Live's hilarious presidential election spoofs. Who doesn't crack up when they think about how much Tina Fey and Sarah Palin look alike? Her impression is absolutely uncanny! I love watching it. I think it's awesome. Barack Obama, John McCain, Sarah Palin, and Joe Biden all get made fun of on Saturday Night Live. Seriously though, who doesn't get made fun of on Saturday Night Live? Chances are, if your name is popular with the media, you will be mentioned and made fun of on SNL! That's what makes the show so great! However, I have been hearing that the spoofs on Saturday Night Live have begun to make an impression on people's political views and even changing their votes. Does anyone feel that the skits performed on Saturday Night Live will change or have changed your mind about who you will vote for this coming November? I'm not sure how to feel. I laugh at the Saturday Night Live skits, but I wonder if it is really changing my political views. When Sarah Palin is portrayed as dumb and inexperienced on a tv show, does it really make viewers change their views on her? Is there anyone out there who has changed their mind about the presidential candidates as well as the vice-presidential candidates because of a weekly live broadcast of a comedy show? I would love some input. :)

Hey,
I like what you had to say, I actually just wrote something about this. I really like Sarah Palin, and I thought it was unfair of the media to portray her as ditzy and inexperienced. It probably did hurt her a lot, when everyone was acting like she was some out of place hockey mom....
