My mother was telling me about a drive-thru voter registration and early voting story that had been discussed on local and national television networks. I could not believe what I was hearing. I just thought maybe she had heard it wrong. She had heard it right and I read the story for myself.
I am impressed that Orange County, California had an electronic drive-thru station for the last day of voter registration and for those who wished to cast ballots for early voting. It was a one-day event, but I thought it was a great idea.
Although, this type of voting is not just in California, it is also in Salt Lake City, Utah and Vermont. It is a rising star among options for voting for elections in the future.
I hope that more of these drive-thru registration and voting stations will appear as we go further into the 21st century. We are in a technological era and should be able to handle this option for future elections.
Democracy is taking hold in this election and eligible voters will exercise their right to vote, in more than just the traditional way of voting.
It is amazing that so many people are really taking their votes seriously and sitting, standing or riding in long lines to ensure that their vote counts.
Drive-thru registrations and early voting stations are a thing of the future.

Early voting itself is pretty common... we have three early voting stations in Colorado Springs, and one in Pueblo. We can vote anytime between Oct 20 and 31st, save for the Sunday that's in there, from about 8:30 in the morning til 4:30 in the afternoon.

I agree. However, early voting in states where I have family and friends never occurred before this year. This is a first for many of us, who have been long time voters.
I am glad that it has expanded to include many more states than 4 years. It gives many more people the chance to vote and during hours more flexible to their schedules.
I guess it was a non-issue for me before... this is the first time I've been registered to vote, so it's the first time I've really paid attention to things on the ballot.
