So last year I was laid off my job at First Marble Head because of the TERI bankruptcy of Private Student Loans. That one was the first of many private student loan institution bankruptcies to come. As of 2008 several private student loan institutions from My Rich Uncle, Campus Door, Chase, and TERI have claimed bankruptcy and have cut off their offers of private student loans. This makes being able to pay for school extremely difficult. A lot of these institutions gave many students who couldn’t normally afford school and couldn’t get financial aid through the government possible to attend college.
What happens now? If it’s harder for people to go to school because there are less resources to be able to pay for school, what will happen to our economy? It seems like we’re being sucked into a black hole or whirlpool of despair. Education is the primary fundamental building block of financial success individually, community wise and nationally. Our economy is already extremely vulnerable and poor. But it’s going to get worse now that less people will be able to go to school and contribute to the economy.
Where’s our government? They need to fix this. Don’t they see the huge black hole consuming our nation? Apparently they don’t think we need education. In fact that’s probably their theme song.
We Don't Need No Education
