So, About That 90's Music...

So, I told you that I would do a follow up on the music of the nineties..well, here it is!

I loved when Disney had songs that were translated into pop hits, such as "Beauty and the Beast", "A Whole New World", "If I Never Knew You", "Colors of the Wind", "Reflection", "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?", and the Tim Collins songs in Tarzan. I really miss those songs, but at least I have a radio station in my town that still plays those songs occasionally and thank God for the iPod! I LOVED the rain-foresty sounds of the percussion (Dido's "Thank You", anyone?); as a matter of fact, the percussion used in the 90's was just way better! You could actually hear it and it make an impact on the music, not just a steady beat in the background that you never notice. And all of the songs had a meaning-not just saying i kissed a girls because I felt like it, and I need to tell you! No! the songs were like live everyday like there's no tomorrow ( Theme song to Dawson's Creek: "I Don't Want to Wait") and be careful when you're chasing you're dreams ("Waterfalls" by TLC). My favorite song of all time is "Kissed by a Rose" by Seal. I heard it in the grocery store the other day and it brought back memories of riding home in the car with my mom in the winter and turning down my hill and chewing on Winter fresh gum. It seems a lot of my memories come from cars. I also LOVE the song "You Gotta Be" by Des'ree. My dad and I had a song: December by Collective Soul. We just called it "spit me Out" and i loved the song "Always be my Baby" by Mariah Carey. For some reason, I always think of my walker when i hear this song. What 16 year ole still thinks of her walker, you ask? Well, that song came out when I was like 2, so that's why: that's what I thought of then when I heard that song, and still think of today. Otherwise on my iPod is Celine Dion's greates hits (love her!) and "I Love You Always Forever" by Donna Lewis.

Jewel's "You Were Meant for Me" is pretty good, too. "You're Still the One by Shania Twain, Faith HIll's "This Kiss"...Tim McGraw's "I Like it, I Love it"...isn't it weird how they're married, and there's a publishing company called Hill-McGraw?
Sorry...anyways, I like Savage Garden's stuff...
