enlightened beings. what makes one enlightened?
what is the nature of thoughts of an enlightened being?

An enlightened person has the power of understanding. He is able to observe reality with an objective perspective, and understand the relationships between elements. This in itself sums up the entire nature of our universe. causation is the driving force of it, and so far seems to be the only one. logic is based on causation, so we can deduce reason is the only tool to understanding our reality.

Now this is a big statement - causation/logic/reason is the fundamental element that builds the structure of our reality, encompassing all time between big bang and the big crunch/infinite expansion/cool out. Our actions are based on logic. One drinks water because he is thirsty, or because he wants to cool off. Our thoughts are based on logic. One votes Republican because he was grown in a Republican family, or because he is attracted by their ideas. Science is based on logic. Logic provides the only explanation of reality.

An enlightened person is equipped with a great understanding of logic. His capacity to reason allows him to understand interactions surrounding him. He understands his reality and its nature. An enlightened person is an observer. He is free from the interactions that drive our society. He is in truth, not in illusions that cause one to be restless. He is in peace with himself and reality, not in fear of the external world. He understands the oneness of nature, he is egoless.

Enlightenment is missing from our society today. We are concerned with illusory values such as coolness, money, influence/dominance, isolationism, laziness/avoidance of work, win/loss etc. We have moved away from understanding, which is the only value we need. We must teach our children to reason, to use logic, to understand.

We must teach ourselves reason. We must read literature - both fiction and non fiction - and take advantage of the knowledge gathered by our past. We can use this to build ourselves a repertoire of logical understanding, understanding of various relationships - between men and women, between families and communities, between customs and cultures, between god and nature. Then we will attain enlightenment and peace.
