It's been seventeen days that the Progressive Blogging Scholarship has been active and has been posted up FastWeb.com. One of the many websites where most students who are ever so anxious to get as many scholarships to pay off the ridiculous amounts for their desired college or university. This is my first attempt to write a blog so why not write about the blog itself and what is the core purpose behind the millions of blogs posted up everyday around the world. Of course many are taking this advantage in order to win a scholarship, while others are doing it just because the norm has decided it's a new "it" trend or even for fun.
With the catchy phrases to grab the readers attention, bloggers everyday hope to gain a small audience due to their amazing story or bias opinion; hoping one would agree with the blogger. I think it's all about opinion and almost gaining attention to maybe one day become a big sensation within a small town or even nation. A great example would be Perez Hilton. Starting off posting blogs about celebrities in a small coffee shop in L.A.; had the ability to build a name for himself. Now he has become one of the familiar faces around celebrities, awards, and maybe sooner or later - a reality show? I won't be surprised.
My point being, blogs can take a subject or a person to a new place. It can either lead to a positive or negative reaction with the public. It can lead that blogger to some sort of fame within a local community or a plain old Joe who doesn't really attract the majority. It's all up to the blogger.
