OMG! Like, I am SO going Green!

Has anyone noticed how "going green" is now a trend? This reoccured to me when I was on the bus the other day and this girl gets off and she has a Vitcoria's Secret PINK bag that says "Think Green" on it, and I was like, really? Are you ACTUALLY making ecologicaly smart decisions? Or is it just that you're following a trend.

Going green has been the trend for a couple of years now. You see celebrities out and about at Whole Foods with their reusable grocery bags, yet they're sipping down bottles and bottles of water. If they really wanted to be living a green lifestyle, then why wouldn't they just re-use a plastic bottle like you buy at Wal*Mart? People who are just now "going green" don't really realize that going green isn't a trend: it's a lifestlye!

Being ecologically and environmentally smart does not mean just reusing and just recycling. It means actually conserving and saving wild life. It means going around and picking up trash in your community, being knowledgable aboout ohter environmental issues than just air pollution, like water pollution and land pollution and endangered species.

The next time you decide to go green, make sure it's for the right choices, not just to have that cute bag from your favorite store in the mall.

My pet peeve is all the bags and t-shirts with green slogans on them that do not use organic free trade cotton or environmentally friendly dyes and inks...unless it was purchase at a second hand store. Better to reuse the crap than throw it away, I guess.

And stainless or aluminum bottles are a sager way to go than plastic.
