Trig Palin: post debate thoughts part 3

DOES SARAH REALLY CARE FOR THE KIDS?
Does anyone know what efforts Sarah Palin made to further the efforts and awareness of special needs children before her youngest son Trig was born 5 months ago? Because McCain makes it seem like she is the end all be all in support of autism education and treatment, and other special needs issues, but I think Jenny McCarthy and Holly Robinson Pete have done more to raise awareness about children with autism. McCain even said Palin does more on this subject than any other American he knows!!! R U KIDDING ME?!?

Palin talks about her reformations, the $40 billion pipe line, the bridge to nowhere, selling the jet, and firing the chef. If you dig deeper you will find that she makes rape victims in Wasilla, Alaska pay for their own forensic kits to determine if they've been violated, she supports aerial hunting, and pays $150 for the front left paw of every freshly killed wolf. BUT I CAN FIND NOTHING, NADA, ZILCH ON WHAT SHE'S DONE TO HELP SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN. I guess you have to be VP or you have to first be the parent of a special needs child to do that?!?

I'm glad someone is making this point. I feel like due to Palin's lack of qualifications she is often over praised for things she she does right or things she shouldn't get praise for at all. I thought that their were a couple of points were Mccain was looking for a pat on the back for things that shouldn't really matter to the American people. Unless he is speaking about a Sarah Palin he knows privately, there has been nothing to suggest that she is a champion for special needs families.

It also puzzles me how the Mccain/Palin ticket continues to talk about how they can improve underfunded institutions like education and programs for special needs families but they have already said they are freezing spending. How exactly will more autism research be done without funding? How will treatment be found and implemented when it has no budget to speak of?
