Debate is my life, my breath, my everything. I eat, sleep, and dream debate. I am the Policy Captain at a public high school in Vegas. Policy is a team debate where one must argue about a certain topic chosen before-hand by the National Forensics League. The topic for this year is: Resolved: That the United States Federal Government should substantially increase alternative energy incentives in the United States. There is a plethora of strange terms and vocabulary applying to this seemingly elitist activity. Policy debate is my favorite because it gives me the opportunity to play a fun game while still talking about real-world issues. Many people argue that policy debate is simply exploded claims from ridiculous warrants and authors, but I truly believe that any claim made by anyone could be construed as absurd by someone. This year, as the Captain, I get to teach all of the first-year students assigned to my debate. They are doing quite well, and I only wish I could say the same for each of the four debates. Mine are by far the best and the brightest. One team took first place at our first tournament, and another team made it all the way to octafinals at a national tournament. I am extremely proud of them. Now I must go do my government homework. That is all.

I used to do policy debate too at my high school. Have you every heard of Caddo Debate Team? We used to be good but from what i have heard they suck now. but we did once win TOC.
