So I'm driving today, right? And it's the second day in a row someone in the turn lane who didn't want to be there just squeezes out and jets and the cops see it. Who's gotten a speeding ticket TWO DAYS in a row from the very same cop? And what is that like when you pull over and they walk up? I mean, can you chitchat? Do you ask them how their day went yesterday? Things I'll never know because it's too futile to ask.
200 words, 200 words.
Oh, My God, the final Presidential Debate's tonight! I need to go buy some snacks. Anyone who reads this, could you maybe hook me up with some suggestions of what food goes good with politics? I'm thinking chips, dip, and cookies. That's nice and democratic.
To be honest, I'm not really blogging for progress. I found this scholarship and need the money. My knowledge of politics is limited. But I also feel monumentally pissed at my government right now, and I do believe in all the hype-this will be one of the most important elections in our lifetime, our generation will have to make some of the biggest decisions in history, we need to restore the prestige of the United States, blah blah blah. Something about this campaign feels-electric. It must have been how people felt when Kennedy was elected in 1960.
So...that's all I can cover in my blog right now. Need to go check and see if there's any french onion left.
Good Morning, Starshine

I love how you are honest and comment on the fact that you aren't really "blogging for progress."
I really need the money too, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna talk about nothing to boost my points. Even if you don't know anything at all about politics, you should at least try.
Just for reference... blogging for progress doesn't necessarily mean blogging about politics. Progress comes in many shapes, many forms and from many different corners. Blog about an issue that strikes a cord with you, blog about the media, blog about generational issues, about your perceptions of society, about the things you've learned or the things you wish to learn, blog about a topic that came up in the news, the community, the school, the other side of the world... there are many, many ways to approach it! And believe me those other ways are appreciated additions!
If you need ideas, check out blogs from some of the moderators (those with badges that say Director of Faculty) or from the Alumni Association (the little U logo). In most cases, those individuals have approached many different topics in many different ways and have done quite well in previous competitions because of the creativity and originality they bring to the competition.
We don't want politics if politics don't interest you. Give us what does interest you in a creative and progress way... and we'll appreciate it. Unless of course... it's regurgitation of chain letters or random "my day sucked", "I hate my boyfriend", etc type things. Those are rarely ever appreciated :)
Hope this helps some!
