At my school mid-terms are within the next couple weeks. Of course, I am panicking because not only does this mean that the semester is half way over; but it also means that projects and papers are due and it's crunch time on all those big final projects. Since I commute to school everyday, I find it harder to maintain my full college schedule as well as my full life. It gets to be a bit daunting at times with all my household responsibilities, work and family responsibilities, as well as my academic responsibilities. Because of the huge list of things that I need to get done, I find myself thinking about how many other people with lives much more difficult than mine, manage to burn the midnight oil to get things done and still are able to function the following day. Anyone that has to do this, for what ever reason, I congradulate you on your ability and determination to do so. Tonight I find myself doing just that, burning the midnight oil in order it get a few more chores and some more studying done. And let me tell you it is not fun and it is exhausting. It really makes you value sleeping. To anyone who burns the midnight oil frequently: you are a hero in my book, it takes a very strong person to do what you do. But do yourselves a favor, make sure you take care of yourself and make sure your efforts do not go unappreciated.
Peace and Love,
AU-Girl

I guess I'm in the category of "burning the midnight oil." I go to school, work, come home, talk my dogs on a walk, and play on the computer, clean the house a bit, and take only a little time to study.
Couse, I'm only taking 2 classes, but when i was full time, I was doing the same things, virtually, and I passed all my classes with A's, B's and only one C.
Don't ask me how i do it. My head might explode by trying to figure it out.
It just takes a lot of coffee and interest. it is even kind of fun in the manner that in the end you act like your intoxicated becuase of the lack of sleep. you slurr your words, you forget what someone just said, you're excited by certain movements and noises, and your feel a hazy like feeling. oh it is intoxicating.
okay it is not that fun, but you have to look at the bright side of things.
