--This picture was taken in Georgia 2 weeks after the aftermath of Hurricane Ike on the Southern States. I joked about people riding around on horses to save gas , but when I saw this my jaw dropped , literally. It really hit me personally when our family was riding around looking for gas , 22 miles left in a 2004 expedition. I knew we wouldn't make it. I went all across atlanta , through cobb county and up and down the syrmna line. Finally we pulled into a Kroger and it gave out. I took my sisters to Mcdonalds [ FAST FOOD NATION recap ] while my mother cried and called asking for gas from nieghbors and family around. We eventually got gas later that evening. I thought back to that picture that my uncle had taken , with the man on the horse infront of the gas station. What was the world coming to?

Between the talk of bail out , the presidential campaigns , war in iraq and school all in everyones ears , everyone became tired. Thats when you started to see the fighting and brawling right in the middle of the stations because they were next in line or the next person looked like they was going to take their spot. More Like barbarians not knowing what to do with two sticks and make fire.

I wonder what life will be like after I graduate. After I head off the college. What experiences and challenges will
I have to face to give my children a better future. Will they fight over the little gas that is left? Or will they just throw up their hands and be like F&*($ it and get a horse?

I'm sure by then, your kids will ride in fuel efficient cars, if not gas-free, and they'll be fighting about the lack of robotic toys and technologies. Or maybe a robot will go haywire, like in IRobot.
