Not Much Difference Between The Ages Of 12 and 21 Anymore...

I was recently going through my friend's old movies and those ancient Loony Tunes cartoons caught my eye. I remember watching Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon when I was little and how much I enjoyed those thrilling t.v. shows. Well, I went back to those channels just to see how much they've changed. And, I assure you, they HAVE changed!
Do you guys remember those shows we used to watch?
Dexter's Laboratory, Animaniacs, Rocket Power, Rugrats (when they were babies), Rocko's Modern Life, Edd Ed, and Eddy, Hey Arnold!, Catdog, Doug, Aah Real Monsters, Pinky and the Brain, and Angry Beavers!
Now television shows are all about reality t.v. with Zoey 101, the Naked Brother's Band, iCarly, Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide, etc etc.
Is it just me or have all of these "kid's channels" turned somewhat too mature for 8-12 year old kids? Every television show I have encountered has made a reference to boyfriends/girlfriends, violence, and overall high school drama. Then I start wondering why my 9 year old cousine goes around telling everyone that she has 3 boyfriends in Europe and 5 in her hometown. Sure, it's cute, adorable, and plain hilarious at first, but once that stage of "AWWW HOW SWEET!!" wears off this starts to seem like its going a little overboard.
So this is an ode to those old cartoons that I know many of us wish were still here...
If I missed your favorite show please let me know what glorious animation slipped my mind.
And remember to let your younger siblings and the kids you babysit know that, even though these t.v. shows they enjoy like to show b.f and g.f. relationships, they don't need to be in a "relationship" at the age of 8 1/2 or 11 years old.
Say to them, "Trust me you will have enough relationships to last you a lifetime probably starting at the age of 15 or 16 so enjoy the youth everyone else wishes they still have! Go play freeze-tag or hide and seek! Go color outside the lines with colors that are nowhere close to the way the real picture should look! But please DON'T go and watch TELEVISION!" :)
