I know that this is a little short coming, but I want to talk to you about race. Here is my beef, Reverend Wright was conserided a racist, hatemonger, bigot for what he said about the USA and Bush foreign policy toward the middle east. Why is that.? Here is what Reverend Wright said about the Jews:
“I heard Ambassador Peck on an interview yesterday. Did anybody else see him or hear him? He was on Fox News. This is a white man, and he was upsetting the Fox News commentators to no end. He pointed out — did you see him, John? — a white man, he pointed out, ambassador, that what Malcolm X said when he got silenced by Elijah Muhammad was in fact true — America's chickens are coming home to roost."[
Now Jerry Falwel, he said that the USA deserved the attacks on 9/11 because it was a punishment from god. There was a little cry here and there but nothing major, yet Bush had not publicity came out and denounced him right afterward? I was too young to know the immediate affect of what Rev. Falwel comment had on the american public but I do know that he still held political power so that means that either a lot of americans agree with his views or that he still political influence that was so powerful, people were afraid to demand that Bush to disown the reverend.
Here is what Revered Wright said about 9/11:
"We bombed Hiroshima, we bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon, and we never batted an eye... and now we are indignant, because the stuff we have done overseas is now brought back into our own front yards. America's chickens are coming home to roost.
Violence begets violence. Hatred begets hatred. And terrorism begets terrorism. A white ambassador said that y'all, not a black militant. Not a reverend who preaches about racism. An ambassador whose eyes are wide open and who is trying to get us to wake up and move away from this dangerous precipice upon which we are now poised. The ambassador said the people that we have wounded don’t have the military capability we have. But they do have individuals who are willing to die and take thousands with them. And we need to come to grips with that”
Here is what Jerry Falwel said on 9/11:
"I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People For the American Way, all of them who have tried to secularize America. I point the finger in their face and say 'you helped this happen.'"
The question left here is, why are Reverend wright rethoric about 9/11 considered a racist, unamerican statement but
Jerry Falwel is treated differently? Do many americans agree with Jerry Falwel about the attacks on 9/11 being an example of devine intervention? Do americans disagree or do not want to believe what reverend wright said about the USA? How and what way was revered weight comments racist? Here is what a definition of what racism is:
“The belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race”
Why do reverend falwel comment not considered racist or unamerican? Is it because the people that he is accusing of causing the attacks of 9/11 not real americans, because if you are a jew, women, a member of ACLU, or homosexual, than you are not a real american. To be a real american, you must be a white prostentant male, just like falwel. If you are not a white conservative, than do that means you are not an american?
Here is what Jerry Falwel said about race, yet many americans do not considered him a racist:
“If Chief Justice Warren and his associates had known God’s word and had desired to do the Lord’s will, I am quite confident that the 1954 decision [Brown v. Board of Education] would never have been made…. The facilities should be separate. When God has drawn a line of distinction, we should not attempt to cross that line.”
Here is what Rev. Wright said about the goveronment:
And the United States of America government, when it came to treating her citizens of Indian descent fairly, she failed. She put them on reservations. When it came to treating her citizens of Japanese descent fairly, she failed. She put them in internment prison camps. When it came to treating her citizens of African descent fairly, America failed. She put them in chains, the government put them on slave quarters, put them on auction blocks, put them in cotton field, put them in inferior schools, put them in substandard housing, put them in scientific experiments, put them in the lowest paying jobs, put them outside the equal protection of the law, kept them out of their racist bastions of higher education and locked them into positions of hopelessness and helplessness.
The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing 'God Bless America.' No, no, no, not God Bless America. God damn America — that's in the Bible — for killing innocent people. God damn America, for treating our citizens as less than human. God damn America, as long as she tries to act like she is God, and she is supreme. The United States government has failed the vast majority of her citizens of African descent.."[

Why do african americans who expreseed angers at being victimized by white people are consider racist, bigoted, unamerican monster, while Jerry Falwel gets to be treated like a messiah?
Why do minority who are angry at being treated differently for their race at the hand of white considered racist? Yet, Jerry Falwel was able to held political power regardless of what he said?

This is great. However, I'd advise being ready with more sources than Wikipedia. These Wright quotes should be easy to find on more reputable websites.

Very interesting post...and I agree about Wikipedia. Also, could you proofread your blogs more thoroughly? Having to read what you wrote a few times to understand what you're saying detracts from the point of your blog.
