Myspace...The new Drug

Tagged:  •    •    •

It has come to my attention that Myspace is indeed a sort of drug for millions of people around the world. I myself have a Myspace, but have not spent enough time on it to use it to its full potential. Myspace is like a drug. Once used, people feel prone to return to it over and over again, "just to check something". These people are subconsiously ADDICTED to a computer program on the internet. This world could quickly be turned upside down for millions if Myspace was to suddenly...DISAPPEAR. I am not against Myspace in its entirety, I just think there should be some sort of time limit that a person can be on it per day. I wish there was some kind of random fact about just how many hours the people in the U.S. alone spend on Myspace. Think of all the other things they could be doing! People could instead be volunteering in their community and lending a helping hand to people that need it. But no! Instead they sit at home in front of a computer screen looking for the perfect mix of music to put on their profile or even a background that they feel is most important to them for the week. Something needs to be done...Myspace is quickly becoming America's new past time.

I agree. I mean I had that obsession in high school and now that I'm in college I'm ashamed to admit that Facebook has taken over. But despite my endless updating status, I still find time to do other things.

I still sleep 8 hours a night on most nights. I'm an Active member in my sorority and I am on staff on my school paper.

I also have a job and routinely volunteer at a Retirement home and squeeze in some tutoring for kids at local schools. Myspace is awesome, but what people need to know is that there is a world out there that they need to explore.

In that I agree, America needs more volunteers. =)

check out this "unique" way to spread news. Apparently this is the only way we understand it.

Americans have MySpace. Canadians have Facebook. It is the epidemic that too many of us have succumbed to.

HA ha Myspace is a major waste of time, true, but I would simply like to point out one little thing. It has to do with hypochracy and pointing fingers.

ProU is a much less waste of time since its motives are pure and good. Many of us unfortunate souls spend a lot of time here. To our benefit though we do go out and try to create a positive influence around us instead of just gossip. Believe it or not we all suffer from this similar addiction...maybe it is human nature?

We can go spread the word to Myspacers that ProU is here and that only awesome cool people hang here and not myspace;)

Love is like a box of chocolates; if you chose wisely you won’t be disappointed and have to spit it out. ~T
