Homosexuality, Should you really care?

I have a serious question for the readers out there "Why should we care about homosexuality?" . I am a heterosexual male who is in a heated debate with others from his school about homosexuality. Many find it an abomination caused by some kind of defective gene or improper balance of hormones. Everyday in school i see homosexuals getting ridiculed, beat up, generally picked on just for the fact that they're different. Me personally, I could careless about what homosexuals do in public or behind closed doors for the main reason that im heterosexual and am comfortable with that life style. Now many people i know believe that homosexuals are not people for the fact that they like same sex but it makes me wonder "Why do they care so much?" In my opinion its because they doubt their own sexuality. So to prove that they are heteros they mock and beat up the homosexuals to prove to themselves that they are what they're forcing themselves to be. Now im willing to bet a lot of you are saying "This is total bull, im straight and proud of it" or "I can't believe this hetero is sticking up for homos" . But the truth is that i just really don't care if homosexuals get married, have sex, have fun, etc. because really its not my entitlement to dictate how people live. Everyone is born different, it is that difference that makes us who we are as a species. Many of you are now stuck on the part in the last few sentences when i said "I don't care if they get married...." . Wow, did i just go there...yes in fact i did. Marriage to me is a piece of paper saying "Oh look he/she is mine for life (or until the divorce) and i have proof of it", so why should i care, because its a holy union of a couple that loves each other, that is again one persons opinion for what it means to be married which i don't believe in. If homosexuals wish to be married i say let them, its no skin off my back for the simple fact that IM NOT HOMOSEXUAL so it doesnt effect me in anyway, and for those of you that do believe that this is a sin against god, go find a river, build a bridge, and get over it.
