questionable identity

Creative words and mentalities, ideas and opinions. I found this website by accident and now I'm here typing away. I have no idea what topics to write about and if they should be controversial or conservative. I mean I did see that there was a topic of week, for to give the writer and idea. But what if I write something that no one likes, I have a terrible fear of failure. But overall I would like the opportunity to express my ideals. But would they be acceptable.
I'm current with news but at the same time naive to the world.
However this will be my first story, I do apologize in advance if they are not well written. I'll still be getting the hang of this. But as for now any advice to a rookie from a veteran would be nice. Maybe on how I should approach things or what language and style they should be written in. I do promise that I'll get the hang of it, I mean if its politics thats okay to write about then by all means I will. But more or less what is taboo here? Is it okay to write a call for attention for mothers who die while giving birth? Or is it okay to write an argument or seek advice it career choices? So many questions, it makes me kind of wish there was an outline to this.
But alas there is not.

I know a mod will probably reprimand me for saying this (because there is a Terms of Use) but I say there are no rules for ProU. Anything that's on your mind is fair game for a blog topic.

As for style, that doesn't matter either. People who constantly spell things wrong and have grammatical errors drive me crazy, but you can't get kicked off the site for it. I would advise using proper English grammar, capitalization and punctuation, though, because otherwise people like me might get sick of you and won't read your blogs (paragraphs are a plus, too).

Both of those blog topics you're thinking are cool, I think. I often write about politics, but sometimes people get sick of that. Too bad for them, I say.

I think I've written one really bad blog before (my second one), but I refuse to delete it. I want it as a record of my progress as a writer, sort of.

No, you're right. As far as what you can and can't blog about, the only real rule is that it has to be progressive. :-)

As far as the website rules go regarding what you can or can't blog about, Cosmic is right. There really aren't any... except for it has to be progressive. The site doesn't really have an outline because there are just so many things you can blog about, and in so many ways, that an outline would really serve no purpose.

We moderators will comment and give you advice. Though some don't appreciate it (quite vehemently), this advice is well-meant. It is based on what other users of the site expect to see in the blogs they read. Users of this website are the ones who will let you know how you are doing.

Things like grammar, spelling, and what to write about don't exactly have official rules but, as Cosmic has stated, some users will refuse to read or comment on your blogs if certain standards are not met. So they are important.

Just a few things I have noticed.

1. Spelling and grammar are important. So is, not only making separate paragraphs, but putting spaces in between them. They give your blog that feeling that you cared about how it looked. If you care about your blog enough to make it look nice, professional, presentable, etc., other people will read it more. A lot of your points from this contest are going to come from user reads, so you want as many people to read your blog as possible!

2. If you can make it a progressive topic, you can definitely post it. However, your readers will be turned off if you post something that 20 other people have recently blogged about... I think the current dead horses are abortion, why people love being Christian, and why people should or should not vote for a certain candidate.

The ideas you mentioned in this blog are awesome and definitely something I'd be interested in reading. If you want to post politics, there are so many different things to write about, I am fairly certain you will have no problem coming up with something to say. :-)

Good luck and I look forward to reading your blogs!
