Hispanic American Women

I have lived with many Hispanic women over the years of my lifetime. I have observed they often do not get far in life. A lot of them often go to college but then end up dropping out or a hand full of them didn’t pass high school. This is a true statistic based on information that I have researched on. Hispanic Americans make no type of money at all that would interest me to survive off of. The average Hispanic American makes about 18,000 a year. This amount is nothing compared to what I would like to live off of, later on in life. Many women do not attend college to further their studies to another level. I believe that the higher the education you have the more successful you will become.

I read an article titled “Our Nation on the Fault Line Hispanic: Hispanic American Education,” it noted; “Approximately, thirty seven percent of employed Hispanics Americans do not have a high school degree. Those without high school diplomas have more difficulty in the labor market than do those with more education. Additionally, only eleven percent of Hispanic American work force is in managerial and professional positions, compared to twenty-seven percent of the non-Hispanic population.” This is a fact that all Hispanic Americans should have put up on their refrigerator to strive them for the better. I take this into consideration, even though I already know what I want to achieve in life. I am a young Hispanic American women and I will further my rights for what others fought for me.

Women have a greater chance today to make a future out of their self back in the sixties and seventies. People do not discriminate as much as they did back then. More women are going for a man’s job today like construction or driving buses. Women use to make an unequal amount of money compared to men. Women have a greater chance then men to continue their studies at a higher institution. According to the graph on “Women Unemployed Relative to Education” states that, “Women are more likely to be unemployed as they get older and not enrolling into a higher institution.” I would always make sure that I get my mind straight to continue my studies. This is the only opportunity that I have to make something out of myself.
