A Precious Little Girl

Come Monday, the thirteenth day of October, it will be one year since I lost a very dear little girl, or should I say an eleven year old that I, as a 17 year old, looked up to. My mom got a phone call that we did not want to hear, Martha Anne was sent to the hospital because she was not breathing. We were asked to pray for her, but somehow, I just knew that she wouldn't survive. About an hour later, we were informed that Martha Anne had passed away. Although she was just eleven, she touched many, many lives. Martha Anne was a great girl to be around and every time I saw her she was being the best big sister ever, or she had a glowing smile on her face. At the visitation, her father told me that she looked up to me also. Martha Anne cut her long, beautiful hair and gave it to Locks of Love after I had. She wanted to follow in my footsteps. Little did I know that in the following years, I'd be following in hers. Martha Anne will forever be the girl who I look up from her presence in my life, but she also will NEVER be forgotten.
