I have no idea if anyone is interested in looking at this but, whatever. I'll probably just treat this as a free-writing or babbling thing regarding recent events either in my life or news.
Everyone has personal problems. They can be mental, physical, or emotional. It's just something that happens to everyone. Really, some people have problems that are worse than others and often, those people are viewed as the bravest among us. Some of the most prominent examples of this are children with cancer, or soldiers who have lost limbs. There is any number of examples, each deserving of attention. There's not they can do but put on a brave face and get through life as best they can, like the rest of us.
And so often we forget that there are people out there who are worse off or who didn't have the chances that we had and whine about trivial things like missing out on that sale or losing something. To often, we think the world is all about us and that we're all that matters. And that just isn't true, there's always going to be someone out there with more need or more pressing problems.
As the Monty Python song says, "Always look on the bright side of life!~ Da duh, da duh, da duh, da duh, da duh~". Because so often we can't control things and being pessimistic isn't going to help us. Being positive can make life more pleasant for both us and those around us. Remember, mind over matter, and so on, and so forth.

I definitely agree that people tend to believe that the world goes around them. and when something happens "tragically" to them they become blinded, and forget how fortunate they really are.We all need a slice of humble pie.
"We all need a slice of humble pie."
Yeah, I certainly know that I do, sometimes.
I often find myself annoyed with others (and myself) when they're/I'm having a pity party. Complaining and feeling sorry for yourself doesn't help the situation at all...in fact, it just makes it worse. More often than not, the problem isn't that big of a deal and a day/week/year later, it's not even on your mind any more. That's not to say that all problems aren't a big deal, but we make too big a deal out of them. My $0.02 :P

Indeed. And a good two cents they are.
:yay:
I applaud you for recognizing this. And now I feel like a hypocrite, because I've been whiny lately, but, well, I think it's all a part of learning not to keep everything bottled up inside. So... I dunno. I hope to get out of the whiny phase soon. Thankfully I'm surrounded by wonderful people, so I'm always reminded how blessed I am.
And that's comin' at ya' from yer local redneck hippie.

Ooh, ooh, pick me, pick me!!!
Thank you. Well, you're not alone. I've been whining about my own issues, too. I think you might be right about that. I know I keep things bottled up too much since I don't let people in easily. I hope I do, too.
