The Blame Game

Government and irresponsibility
It has been evident that blame shapes laws and the art of policy making in this country. The government has implied that the poor, women and all social ills is the fault of the most convenient oppressed group around. Policy has condoned racism, gender discrimination and war by criminalizing those who are a threat to the elitist faction of our country. Since there are only 10% in the upper echelon of this society it offers a wide variety and large numbers to claim as perpetrators.
White males have virtual fortresses in government, financial institutions as well as in the work place. They are responsible for building the glass ceiling which prevents most women and races which serves them well. It certainly reduces the intrusions and threats to their power from groups who may invade their workspace. During WW II women were permitted to leave the confines of their homes and occupy jobs left vacant by the enlisted men. However shortly after the end of the war they were “relieved” of their duties and independence by their “breadwinners” returning from the war. The implied reason was that women did not have the stamina for such hard work while the true reason was that women at fault for being “weak” and “delicate”.
During that same war black soldiers were segregated from whites and were treated as poorly as they had been in the states. This was a political decision sustained by propaganda and put into policy. The rational was that they were obligated to serve (and for a short time in history were allowed citizenship) but their inferior status demanded their marginalized position upon their return. In both of these examples concerning WWII the controlling force is the white male who has already ensconced the rules of inferiority by the misfortune of being poor, female and a darker skin color.
Obama received severe criticism from the opposing party concerning his religious affiliation
and his relationship with Reverend White. What the people of this country were unwilling to admit is that the Reverend spoke much of the truth concerning the oppression of blacks. Barack was blamed for attending a church whose sermons threaten whites and that exposes the whitewashing of America. Similarly, the poor are to be blamed for not achieving the elusive “American Dream” and women are at fault for everything else.
