It seems as if the whole Debate is turning to a race issue!
What does it matter if we are black, white, pink or orange?
The whole thing has got me thinking about the 'N" word in today's society and a topic on a past essay I had to write. Do you think the "N" word should be used at your leisure, no matter your race?
Why or why not?
They say we live in a free country....do we really?
If we lived in a free country everyone could say what he or she wanted when they wanted and how they wanted. People use the “N” word all the time, however, if you go in a public place and use a curse word or something that is not approved of, you could be banded from the restraunt or asked to leave. The “N” word is a huge part of racism, and I’ve heard people call Obama the “N” word along with many other words. Is it the color of his skin people don’t like or is it that they are scared of change?
Change is a huge word, should we change our country to a non- freedom of speech country so people aren’t allowed to say they “N” word? It’s so much to be said in this world, and so many stuff that’s going that doesn’t live up to the constitution with so little time left.

...is a country in Africa, but some people might look at this word and think, "Hey, isn't that just like the word n-"
The word is still very much a big deal today, even though there have been such leaps and bounds in equality and rights for everyone.
I don't know how someone feels being called "n--" because I'm white. I'd assume it would be very rude, a demeaning term meant to hurt feelings. However, my only synonym would be "Cracker" or "white trash", and I just think someone's got to be mentally handicapped in some way to use those words seriously. If anyone ever called me "cracker" I'd burst out laughing. But then again, there isn't a whole history behind that word.

the word "Honky" makes me giggle a lot. I don't know if it's because it sounds ridiculous or if I just associate it with The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)'s version of Othello.
"What a crazy random happenstance!"

We should have the freedom to express ourselves; however using the N word wouldnt be the best choice to express yourself. it has a bad reputation and when most people hear you use the N word they may think of you as uneducated and prejudice. I thnk people use the N word not because they fear change, but because it is a habit ; they are not thinking our considering others , and it is human natural to ridicule and judge.
i think people should not use the N word; but it is their choice even if it is poor.
second i dont think the entire election has been entirely about race. infact i dont even think it is a big issue. the election from what i have been reading and listening to is more about the colorless economy.
I've been following the election pretty close. And no, I dont believe it started out as a huge race factor but its coming to be that. The election has got pretty nasty here from both canadites lately, when both of them promised in the beginning to keep it clean and not get nasty with it.
But back to the "n" word----If only blacks should be able to use the word, should I have the privilage to use the word? I am mixed, with a white mother and a black father. Should I be able to use the word since I am half?
