So this isnt really going to be a very progressive blog. And yes i know this website is progressiveu.org. But who am i kidding many of my others weren't that great either. But that isn't what my blog is about.
I am writing this blog because I havent been on in a while. I use to get on here almost everyday of my senior year. But now im done with high school and never can quiet find the time.
But i posted a blog a while ago about my youngest brother being born with a cleft lip and some people wanted me to keep them updated. So here I am.
Eli Douglas had surgey September 5th. It was hard to see my innocent four month old little brother being put to sleep then taken away by a complete stranger to be cut on. I had to stay strong for my dad and stepmom I just had to. So i held in my tears or walked away when it was to much. But I stayed there and i stayed as strong as possible. About 5-6 hrs later my dad and stepmom got to go back to see him and i got put in a different waiting room with a different family waiting on one of their loved ones to be done with surgery.
This really kind lady then began to have a conversation with me and asked me why i was there if i didint mind telling her. I told her my baby bro was having surgery on his cleft lip then asked her why she was there. She told me her nephew was 16 and had a brain tumor. I once more held in my tears and realized the cleft lip really wasn't that bad. But she said by the grace of God the whole tumor had been removed with out any problems. I was very happy for her and said a little prayer in my head.
Finally about 30-45 min later my stepmom came and got me and a nurse took me to Eli. Finally I got to see him... I saw him and this was the hardest part for me not to cry. That wasn't my little brother at least that what i kept telling myself over and over again in my head. That beautiful little baby with a minor birth defect was no more. He was whole with a few stitches and this little thing on the top of his nose they called a button. He was passed out from all the drugs. He would start to come to all groggy then go back to sleep it was so hard to see him like that. But then i realized it really was a miracle nothig went wrong.
It took a few days but i got use to the way he looks and he is beautiful with or without the cleft lip.
He is doing great and is mostly a really happpy baby.

I'm glad to hear that he is doing well and recovering from the surgery. Will he have to have any others or do they thing that was the only one?

they said he will have to have one more on his nose and when he is around 5 they are going to have to do a little bone graft to fix a little spot in his gums. So hopefully nothing to big.

I don't think this is non-progressive at all. This is a wonderful example of your own experience with a subject not many people know much about, and I'm glad to hear your perspective on it. I am happy your little brother is doing well! :-)
As a tip, I would remove your first 2 paragraphs because they give the impression that people may not want to read the rest of your blog. Then, in that third paragraph, put in a link to your other blog, so people who are interested don't need to search for it. :-)
