Do students really have power in student office? I am actively involved in many organizations at my school and I never thought of it till now. Do people who hold student office actually have power and respect in student organizations? I have been actively involved all four years of my school and loved every minute of it. But do I really have power and say on what goes in my school? I’ve been in any organization, you name it I done it. From FFA which I’ve been Vice President to President, In Skills USA I’ve been co-secretary, in class office I’ve been a representative and secretary and was in Student council as a secretary. I’ve seen many things happen at my school some good; some not so good. I’ve seen my school be represented by board members of my home school and other school districts. We don't even have a say of what goes on by not having board members from my Tech school.
So here is my question, do we, (Those that hold office) have said in what happens or do administrators actually have the real power. Tell me what you think because I’d really like to know. Any advice and opinions would be helpful!
Who holds the real power and say?

students do not have the power. Most of the students are not allowed to vote; thus they really do not have the right to make any decisions that happens and involves school. It is unforunate. cases like Hazewood vs. School District demostrate the authority that the school has over the students. they have the ultimate say on everything if it is schooled sponsored.
I've never held an office in a student council, but aren't you supposed to represent your entire student body? I think that means you can go to meetings involving things that will affect the student body and state what the students want to happen and give rationale, etc. You're not really a decision maker, but you exist so that the student body can have a say in things. You have that amount of influence and power.
"What a crazy random happenstance!"
