I have notice some things. And these things are choking me. So Im going to cough them out. No statistics. No websites. No nothing. Just my words. Here.
I read a post on a blog about abortion last night that really, really threw me for a loop. The post stated this, "If men had to worry about getting pregnant at 17, they would be Pro-Choice too." The problem with that statement is this, if you weren't having sex, then you wouldn't have to worry about getting pregnant either. But if you are 17 year old or 15 year old or 13 year old girl who is making the adult decision to give your body over to a person, to let them have hteir way with you, then if and when you do get knocked up, don;t you think that you ought to have some responsibility for your actions.
And perhaps this statement has an underlying meaning that maybe gives a clue as to what is wrong with this country and this generation which I am sorry to say I am part of.
Perhaps this country has lost touch with the idea of responsibility. Maybe that is why our generation is far more liberal and pro-big governement than the generation before us. Maybe that is why this generation is convinced that government should be responsible for us. I mean look at the things that are said on this site, on the news, on facebook, in your highschool and college classrooms.
It ridiculous.
I fear for this country and this world once we get a hold of it. If we think its bad with the overspendy and irresponsible boomers in power, generation Y will probably bring this country into its worst period EVER, if we even get that far.

I don't think too many pregnant teenagers walk around blaming the government for the fact they got pregnant. Most likely they blame the guy who came inside them.

I think that's a pretty archaic and sexist way to describe intercourse.
I know, perish the thought that a teenage girl should want to have her way with a strapping young man. This dude really was born in the wrong generation.

That was a kind of strange way of thinking about sex. If a young girl is making "the adult decision to have sex", then that doesn't necessarily mean that a man is "having his way" with her. There are two people to the equation, and not just one is ...ahem...doin' all the work here.
