I'm new to site and I for sure will add a different perspective to politics in general and more specifically this presidential election. I am a college student but unlike many young people my age, I'm a Republican and I support John McCain. In fact, I was a delegate to the Republican National Convention. I live and breathe politics; it’s my major, my hobby, and my passion. I look forward to analyzing the rest of this presidential race and the first few months of our next President's term, whoever it might be.
First, a little about me. I have been a Republican my whole life. I believe smaller government is better government. A strong national defense is key to protect our great nation. Also, nothing kills an economy quicker than raising taxes, Americans know how to spend their hard earned dollars much better than the government does. After reading all this you're probably saying wow, he is one of the crazy right-wingers. Well, you are wrong. I consider myself independently Republican. The reason I register as a Republican is most of my views match up with the Republican platform. My views are not what they are because they are included in the Republican platform. I judge every idea on its own merit and I am not afraid to break with my party. In fact, I disagree with Senator McCain on the bailout. If I was a senator or congressman, I would have voted against it and I congratulate and thank those who fought against this flawed plan. More on this subject later but I just want to make the point that no one is going to tell me what to believe. What I believe is what I truly think is the best option for America.
So with this blog I hope to accomplish a few things. I will analyze our American politics from a Republican college student’s point of view, I will challenge ideas from both parties, and I will talk about how and why our country is so great. I thank you for reading and I hope you continue to read my posts.

We conservatives seem to be hitting the blogosphere in greater numbers these days. I'm glad that we're making our presence felt, especially as members of the younger generation, but I think the most important contribution we can make to any discussion is, as you said, to just present the other side of the argument. I worry that a lot of our peers get swept away in the Obama/Democrat wave at this nation's colleges and universities, which, along with most of the media, lean left.
We appear to share a common goal: to dissemble the liberal establishment's stranglehold on America's youth. Conservatism, in the right hands, can and is progressive. Looking forward to seeing more of you.
