"Little Buddha"

My English class just finished watching a movie called "Little Buddha". I found the content to be really interesting and informative. What captured my attention more than anything is the idea of reincarnation. I really liked most of the ideas presented, and could even make sense of reincarnation. Now I'm fairly conflicted as to whether or not I agree with Buddhism. I've always held the opinion that A) when you die you're dead. There is nothing else. and B) when you die you become apart of everything. Since you contain energy, which doesn't just go away, that energy must go somewhere. It provides nutrients for plants, animals, insects, and all other life forms, essentially becoming part of them. Your bone matter will also eventually become part of the earth, essentially making you part of everything, eventually.

Now, reincarnation seems to make sense. The movie used a metaphor with tea. It likened tea to the soul in that the tea can be moved from one container to another (body), but it is still the same tea (soul). This makes so much sense to me, but so do my theories on becoming nothing and on becoming everything. I don't know what to think now.

Consider both your conjectures as true.
If you really are everything then you are nothing too.
