Political Candidates and Religion

As a person who holds strong religious beliefs and convictions I believe that religion is a very important part of my life. However, when considering which candidate I am going to support, I choose to look at what their morals and values are rather than what church or denomination they might belong to.
Yes, I believe religion is important but I do not think that it matters whether the President of the United States is Jewish, or Christian, etc. Different religions hold their own beliefs as a group. A religious group can believe that Christ has come to the earth and had died for our sins OR a religious group can believe that Christ has not made his second coming yet. As a part of the religious group one belongs to, he/she generally accepts the religious groups beliefs. However, ones morals and values are things that are developed for oneself through experiences and what you are taught by the people around you.
I want the person that I elect into office to have the same morals and values as I do, and I believe that as a Christian I can share the same moral beliefs of what is right and wrong with anyone on this earth, no matter what his/her religious background is.

I think religion should be a non-issue in the presidential election because we have freedom of religion. Which religion (or lack thereof) has minimal bering on whether or not you have good, strong morals.
Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see.

I don't think religion matters and much as morals and ethics. I think it matters more in this election than other becuase of the huge need of social change.
