Why To Vote For McCain (Not Why You Shouldn’t Vote For Obama)

As the days draw closer and closer to November 4th, the day we elect a new president, Americans must look at each candidate and choose which one they want to support.
Both Obama and McCain have idea’s that they feel will better the country, but those ideas, for the most part, are vastly different.
John McCain’s platforms are the best approach to better this country, which is what a president should be elected for, not because of which party he is running for.
The most vexing issue at the moment is the economy, which McCain says he has a multi-point plan to fix.
John McCain says he will act immediately to lower gas prices by sending a strong message to world markets. He plans on doing this by telling oil producing countries and oil speculators that the United States will end its dependency on foreign oil and the result will be lower prices at the pump.
This is an excellent plan; we have depended on foreign oil sources for too long. We must take the initiative to drill here as soon as possible until there is a better alternative, which is what McCain wants to do. He believes in the use of renewable energy, which he plans to develop under his administration, but understands that until those technologies are developed well enough to be competitive with conventional energy sources.
Another point in his plan to revive the economy is a pro-growth tax plan. Part of this plan is to cut the corporate tax rate from 35% to 25%.
The United States has the second highest corporate tax rate in the world, making it a less attractive place for companies to do business. By lowering the corporate tax rate, companies will do more business in this country thus pumping more money into our economy and making more jobs.
Another controversial issue for 2008 is the war in Iraq. McCain believes that it is essential for the United States to stay in Iraq until a competent and capable Iraqi security force can take over.
Leaving Iraq until this point would be a grave mistake. Withdrawing too soon could create a terrorist safe haven or even worse, a pawn state of Iran. If we let this happen, it would most likely only lead us back to another war in Iraq, which could be far worse and more costly. We must win in Iraq or we risk dire consequences.
Another concern in this election is health care reform. John McCain believes that we can and must provide affordable health care to every American. He plans to use competition to improve the quality of health insurance and lower its prices.
Competition has always been a key component in America’s market, so why shouldn’t it be the same way when it comes to health insurance? Competition will force insurance companies to provide better care at lower rates, or they will go out of business.
Students must get informed about the policies of both candidates and if they can get out and vote. The person they should vote for is John McCain because he has the experience and the plan to better this nation.

I am not trying to diss McCain and everything but I have a bad feeling that this economy will suffer even more if he becomes president, but then again I don't know about Obama either. This is actually one of the worst times to become president and there is no quick fixes to stablize the economy that Bush destroyed for 8 years.

Sorry to disappoint you, but I am voting for Lewis Black.

I'm not a Bush supporter, but this economic situation isn't his fault. It tooks years for it to get this bad, and if you look back in 2002 the democrats could have fixed it. They didn't.

But I think his lack of intelligence is his fault...

I agree with the title of your post. McCain (in my opinion) has presented the most facts, while Obama seems mostly interested in bashing people who are against his ideas. But still, some of McCain's ideas I don't quite agree with, so this election is definitely tough and discouraging. But I am voting for McCain! :)

The only reason I would vote for McCain is because he is not Obama. I spent too many years fighting John McCain's illegal alien shamnesties to believe that he has decent judgement or the best interests of the middle class at heart. He is marginally better than the communist Obama but that is damnation by feint praise.

I live in Wyoming and there is a 99% chance that McCain will win Wyoming's 3 electoral votes. This leaves me free to vote my conscious without fear that I am inadvertently doing harm that would deliver America into the hands of a communist. If by some freak chance my failure to vote for McCain causes Obama to win in Wyoming then he will be looking at much worse problems as he loses in a landslide in Ohio and Florida.

This leaves me free to vote for Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution Party who is the only candidate that believe in following the Constitution and believes in traditional American values and a free market economy.

Actually, Obama is leading in both Ohio and Florida right now. I highly doubt it's as likely as you seem to believe that he'll go from his lead to a landslide loss (I especially believe this for Ohio, since I get to observe that one first hand). That said, it's also unlikely that Obama will win by a landslide, since the polls are close in both states.

Well, this election you cant really vote for the party because although John McCain has an R next to his name, he is really a democrat or as some would say a liberal Republica. Some things i do agree with McCain, most things i dont with Obama, and that is why my vote is for McCain.
