Tolerance

Tolerance. It is an ugly word. To know somewhere out in the wide expanses of the world someone hates you with the utmost intensity for no better reason than what you are. Tolerance is never about who you are. And so we tolerate the existence of our hated foes never questioning the rage fostered deep inside; only recognizing the devouring need to hate. And so the light turns its back on the tattered remains of our humanity and watches sadly as the beast destroy our souls.

Tolerance is never about accepting someone. Its about having a problem with something to begin with. We are suppose to a be highly intellectual species, yet we can not comprehend a simple idea. Live and let live. No one in this world is better than you. Someone will always be better than you. As paradoxical as those statements sound that is the truth. You will be better than someone at something, and then someone else will be better than you at something else. That is how the world works. There is no reason for animosity towards another race, religion, or nationality. We should be free from such petty disagreements yet humanity is most bound by them. Tolerance creates hatred. Hatred creates violence. Violence destroys the soul.

Huh. That's actually a really interesting way of looking at it... I wish I had something relevant to add, and Im afraid I'm kind of braindead right now, but kudos on a very thought-provoking post!
