I have decided that for the next two weeks I am not going to eat meat. I don't know how I am going to make it through, but I will definitely try. I have tried to be vegetarian before, but it has only lasted a day or so. I am hoping that this time will be different. I am not doing this for the sake of the animals, if you read my other post you will see that I love fur and leather. I am doing it this time to see how much sekf control I can have because recently in my life it has seen life not much, and it is really upsetting me. I plan to write an update at the one week mark, and then a complete overview after the two weeks.
Just to clarify I am going to eat a vegetarian diet, not a vegan one. Some of the things that I will still be eating are: eggs, dairy products, honey, and other things that vegans would not eat. I will not be eating: beef, prok, poltrey, fish, or shellfish. I make sure that I get enough protein I plan to put protein powder into yogurt, and eat peanut butter. I think I will actually get more protien this way, because I never ate that much meat anyway. So today was sorta my last supper in a way. I had some tilapia and shrimp for lunch, and chile with ground beef for dinner. Wish me luck. I will let you know how it is going in a week.
I wanted to add that I do plan on eating Ramen noodles, chicken flavor. This my technically be cheating, but it is one of the foods I have in my room, and it has no actual meat in it. And for me gelatin is okay. Again this isn't about becoming a full blown vegetarian for animal rights, I just want to see how much self control I have.

You know, if you make some soups with beans and such, you can get a bunch of protein and not have to stick to two rather boring sources of protein...

I recommend you make it with a litle more olive oil than you would normally, as your body will probably be missing the animal fats. A little extra olive oil will increase the satiety.

The problem is that I am in college and most of my food will be coming from the cafeteria, but thanks for the advice. I do think that there is enough vegetarian food to sustain my, I just think that it will become very repetitive.
I've haven't eaten meat since December 2007 and it has actually been going well. Eat lots of nuts, soybeans, and green foods - they have much more protein than meat!
