As the famous author, Alice Walker, once said, "The most common way for people to give up power, is by thinking they don't have any." That is true in many aspects in life, through the past to present. One of the glorious things of having a democratic nation is that we do have power indirectly to control the laws we live by. However, in this nation especially in this election some people have decided to ignore all the hard fought rights our ancestors gave us and decide not to vote. By not voting we give up the control of our own government, yet when we see things we don’t like occurring many people are quick to persecute the leaders. In this upcoming election it is the most important thing to vote. Take the time out of your busy schedules and listen and research who will be leading this country. A half and hour of your time is worth the next four years, on that I swear. A lot of adds are out right now and the election is neck to neck many untrue statements are being said by both sides. It is the American duty to be able to make an educated vote. By not voting at all just because of the intensity of the election is no excuse. There is no reason not to be heard. Use the first amendment and express yourself, pick the president that you think is best and don’t let other people influence you, but most of all just vote. Get registered and vote.
