This years election has had its ups and downs. I have to admit Obama and McCain have come a long way. Obama has made some promising policies that Americans want as well as McCain. But the real question is Who is really ready to become president? McCain is 70 something years of age. His medical history isnt that great either. In the first Presidental Debate, the first question, what was he going to do about the $700 billion financial problem, he couldn't even answer the question properly because Bush is in his party. On the other hand Obama flat out said that he would vote for it. He knew what had to be done and is going to do it. Some people may think that people are only going to vote for Obama because he's black, but its more than that. Obama has shown leadership during his campaign. he raised $80 million dollars in one month. Obama had not taken any handouts from anyone. He is proving to the world that he can raise money on his own.
If you have a problem with my blog oh well. i am voicing my opinions about the election. I cant even vote this year so my opinion doesn't even matter anyway.

I believe any one who is under the age of 55 and votes for Mccain is crazy. Mccain is too old to run this country because he is at the age where senility has set in. Also why should a man that is 70 something be able to run the country when the retirement age for Americans is between 65 and 68. To put Mccain in this position will be an act of desperation, to not give the qualified man the opportunity to do what is right for our country.
I understand your point but I disagree that McCain's age is a problem. Ronald Reagan battled old age and he was one of the most successful presidents ever in moving America forward (for god's sake, he and Pope John Paul II brought down the Soviet Union singlehandedly) I understand if you disagree with McCain politically but not voting for him because of his age (which isnt that old and hes i good health) is similar to not voting for Obama because he is young
Going Back to what you wrote about people voting Democratic just because Obama is black, i think its totally the opposite. Despite the fact that we as Americans want to portray an image free of racism and prejudice as a representation of the US, let's face it: there are many, way to many, who still have a mentality (which I particularly find absurd) which differences between African Americans and Whites. So in any case, although Obama's ethnical background can appeal to some, it can really be a problem for a lot as well. I mean, usually when a party is in control for as long as the Republicans have and things just don't go well, people immediately go to the side that offers them change, not more of the same. However in this 2008 election, ratings have been pretty much tied, and that's part of my backup for what I'm saying.
As far as age goes for McCain, being 75 I think destroys his campaign. Like you were saying, although many of the elder Americans (especially the ones that are well-off financially) are willing to vote for him because of I'm guessing the "tradition" maybe in the propositions of the GOP, now they are also looking at Palin... and for some that's a big throwback.
Don't think that your opinion doesn't matter. With the information you know you are educating others and in turn helping or ensuring their decision. so keep writing, and keep sharing what you know, and how you feel.
I don't think McCain's age is a factor in this years election. If he can endure the challenging and vigorous primary season, I think he will be able to endure the challenges he would face if he were elected president. What will and is currently hurting John McCain in recent polls is not his age, but his party. This economic crisis has got people upset, and the first one to get blamed has and always will be the party in power. Many American are turned off from the Republican party because of these hard times right now. This is the reason the Democrats and Senator Obama keep pounding the message that ties Bush and McCain together while McCain is pushing the message of a maverick while trying to distant himself from his own party.
This election has gained the attention of people of every age, ethnic background and socioeconomic status. I am an eligible voter and I had opinions before I ever voted the first time. I will vote in this election. It is vital!
It is a great thing that you are paying attention to this election and that you have an opinion. You should because the decisions that the next President will make will directly have an impact on your life and your future.
Obama has made a decision to talk about issues that impact the lives of all students and thus, he has attracted more of this voting block. They finally realize that their votes and opinions actually count. Someone is listening to your concerns, your dreams, and your vision and has become your voice.
Keep having an opinion. More power to you!
