Damned If You Do...

Watching last nights Vice-Presidential debates I find myself torn. I'm very much a democrat, however I've heard John McCain speak before and I'm from Arizona so I've seen some of the good things that John McCain is capable of. However, I have to wonder about his(John McCain) Vice-Presidential nomination. Sarah Palin is an untested governor from a state that, yes, is huge, but has a population smaller than most of the big cities in the continental states. I understand why he did it, but I find it hard to take his ticket seriously after that pick. Don't take this as a bash on Sarah Palin, though. I think she did a really good job last night. She had some really good things to say, but her inexperience showed through and Senator Biden really took advantage of that. I found myself leaning more towards Senator Obama and Senator Biden because of the way that the senator conducted himself and more importantly because of his 35 years of experience that he has behind him. Also, I do realize that Senator Obama is also very inexperienced when it comes to politics, he is a first term senator, which is why his vice-presidential pick was a spectacular choice. It's still too early to make a clear cut decision, so it'll have to wait until October 7th, the presidential debate at Belmont University.

Damned if you do...damned if you don't.

"She had some really good things to say, but her inexperience showed through and Senator Biden really took advantage of that.".... I agree with you and thought the same thing when I was watching it!

I didn't get to watch the debate (I had class), but I've heard Palin in interviews before, and she really doesn't sound... smart.

She said, "She is unsmart."

To which I replied, "How Biden of you to not call her a dipshit."

I'm obviously not voting for McCain/Palin.

The dance around what the cause of global warming from Palin's point of view was very interesting to watch.

I wish I could have been around to vote George Washington into office (not that I would have been allowed because I'm a woman but you get my drift.) No one lately seems exciting or thought provoking or even really genuine. Sarah seems like a real person, sure, but I don't really understand her motives for accepting the nomination. Why does she need to be Vice President? I don't trust that these politicians have pure motives.

Since the Vice President's designated job is to cast a vote in the Senate when there is a tie, I would like the Vice President to have been a senator. Since the President's role is Commander in Chief, I'd like the President to have been in the military. There is no perfect pick in my opinion.
