With the current economic panic, there has been much debate over the $700 billion bailout plan. Most citizens are against it because their hard-earned tax money is going into the hands of the rich executives of Wall Street. And they should be absolutely disgusted by the bailout plan. As American citizens, we have our right to our personal freedom and we have a right to spend our money in any way we choose. But now the government, is trying to take our money to bailout the $20 million a year Wall Street executive. This is not how America was founded, if anything the American government should be helping those small-business owners whose lives depend on their businesses. However, the government will never bailout the "little people" because all citizens must try and make it on their own and if you fail, you lose, and that's how the free market system goes. Instead, we have a double standard. We have allowed the Wall Street firms to get so large that we must bail them out or have our economy fail. Instead, Wall Street should have to pay for their mistakes and the government should not let monopolies take over our economy. And forget about telling us that our money has to go to bailing us out, there should give us that money and allow us to stimulate the economy and invest in Wall Street so that it can strive again. Our nation was founded on personal freedom and decisions and we should not have a double standard and who we do and do not help!

I definitely agree with the fact that our country was founded on individualism and self reliance, and there is no doubt that the greedy financial giants who got us into this mess should pay. But we must not immediately rule out the possibility of some sort of bailout. Altogether, I am against the government seizing 700 billion dollars of our tax money. The only way I could see it even being a possibility is if it is ABSOLUTELY necessary to stabilize the economy, there is legitiment proof of long lasting stabilization (although that is virtually impossible), and the culprates of the entire problem are punished severely.

I agree, the bailout should have never happened. It's their own fault, and they should pay.
