Helping others that don't want your help

There are just some people that do not like to be helped no matter what you do! Ok so here's the deal, I got fired from my last job, the reasons are not meant to be stated lol, and I obtain another job. There are some people in the training class that either struggle with the material or just keep whining about it. I used to be a team lead in one of my previous jobs and I enjoy sharing the knowledge that I obtain, and have with others.

I have attempted in like 15 different ways of helping people in my class, and no matter what I do, they just either hate me, roll their eyes at me, or just plain out ignore me. I personally just quit trying.

We do have to work in groups sometimes and make a presentation of what we have learned for either that day, or learned thus far. Everyone is always doing their own thing and don't really co-operate, so as being used to leading I try to lead the group, I don't tell them what to do, but instead I ask what their opinion is on the subject and what they think they can do. Nobody listens or answeres my questions and they end up making some half assed poster/presentation.

Is it hard for a person to listen to others? I like being critiqued and listening to new ideas. What I don't like is when you give someone a helping hand and they shove that hand back in your face and continue to struggle with something that you just gave them the answere for. Am i just doing something wrong? or are they just being well for loss of words meanie buts....?
