--++ Expansion on the Audit for Progressive U post ++--
Outline for experiment with the Progressive U Forum:
1) Create a status bar that is attached with a persons name. Include in this bar these attributes:
Ability to communicate (mispelling/organization)
Ability to retain focus (content)
Ability to retain dignity (content - R/NC-17)
Having all 3 tags means that you have been 'validated' as a higher-member of Progressive U, and are not simply spamming for the $1000.
2) Create a list of guidelines regarding the attributes, so it is easier for user-mods (moderators who were not involved in the creation of the forum) to hand out 'membership' to people.
3) Promote validation as a rite-of-passage, a secondary "member" application of status showing competancy in communication.
4) Do NOT create a subforum for validated members, this will only encourage n00bs to get validation to get access to the subforum and spam it. Instead, attach a tag to posts made by validated members. This will help when looking at 'last viewed' and 'last posted' lists.
5) Lengthen the 'last viewed' and 'last posted' lists. Spamming is effectively cut down when this happens, because doubling the list decreases the effect of spam/inane posts by 1/2.
6) Have a simple, short guideline for validated members that explains validation can be taken away for off-topic posts (unless theres a REALLY good reason) or if the content mysteriously becomes unreadable after validation.
